I purchased this due to factory throttle body making a popping sound and the truck had a rough idle and would occasionally stall at stop lights. I went with the 85mm in hope of increasing air flow and it has; the truck hasn’t stalled since the installation and the idle is solid. I am pleased.

Installation was easy, and in combination with the cai and exhaust, made the truck run better. The seat of the pants-o-meter tells me the truck has more power at higher rpm levels. Next is a custom tune.

I noticed a big difference in take off and when going up a hill my truck didn’t down shift much with the extra horsepower that was added with the throttle body. Easy to install and took less than an hour like instructions stated it was more like 30 minutes, but only because the rubber boot from the air intake was a little tight fit but super easy to install throttle body. And if you have a tuner it’s even better with throttle body. Great purchase if you’re looking for a extra tweak.

Do not purchase this throttle body got it with with kit and have nothing but problems and since it finally decided to finally go out completely after a little over a yr im am stuck with a truck not running and a 500 paper weight wouldn't be really upset about it going out but only have around 5 thousand miles on it and for the price it cost you would think it would last for years so if you can I wouldn't purchase

Install - 9/10. Super easy, I had a very difficult sensor clip that would not come off, so that slowed down what would have otherwise been a 15 minute install. Performance - 7/10 Noticeable throttle response. I was switching this out for a throttle body spacer, so I can't compare to stock, but it definitely has less of that lag feeling and holds a more steady acceleration through the 3k rpm range Price: 5/10 Other: Kiss any fuel economy you thought you had goodbye. I got a custom "eco" tune and still, this upgrade has me getting around 9mpg down from 11-12

Throttle body was a simple bolt on enhancement. The only thing, I have an airfare spacer. The bolts were too short, and bolt heads were too fat to cinch down. Does anyone know where I can get 6x 70 mm with round hex bolts. This should work.

Customer Question I have a 2015. 5.0 with the Roush stage 2 kit. Intake, exhaust and tune. Will this work with that setup without a new tune?

Asked by: Andy - 2/6/2021
Customer Answer We can't guarantee that you won't have issues. On one hand, Roush's tuning isn't the most aggressive in the world, and only jumping up to an 85mm throttle body that technically works fine with the stock tune likely wouldn't be a big deal. On the other hand, Roush's tune is specifically made for the factory throttle body, and there's the potential for at least a weird idle or jumpy throttle response. Your best bet would be to speak to Roush and see what kind of leeway their tune has.

Asked by: LD - 10/13/2020
Customer Answer aFe's couplers will work just fine on this throttle body. They tend to be pliable enough to stretch over.

Customer Question I want to replace the OEM Throttle Body on my 2018 F150 5.0L, mostly because it whistles loudly and Ford won't do anything about it. So I may as well upgrade! Have you had any complaints about unwanted noise from this TB?

Asked by: D - 10/21/2019
Customer Answer With a proper install and seating on your intake manifold, you should not have issues. However, you may want to check and see if the throttle body seal on the manifold is possibly damaged or if you have a loose intake boot or some other issue before taking the plunge with BBK's throttle body.

Customer Question Will this throttle body work with the boss 302 intake kit?

Asked by: Jim - 9/19/2019
Customer Answer Yep. It will fit on the Boss 302 manifold, though you will likely need retuning to avoid issues if you currently have a Boss 302 manifold installed on your truck with the stock throttle body.

Customer Question I ordered the BBK throttle body for my 2015 F150 with 5.0L. Looking at the packing slip I noticed it said 2015-17 GT 85mm. Is the TB the same for the F150 as the GT or did I receive an incorrect part ? Thanks

Asked by: Chris - 5/16/2019
Customer Answer The throttle body is the same for both the 2015-2017 Mustang GT 5.0Ls and the 2015-2017 F150 5.0Ls, so you do have the correct throttle body for your truck.

Customer Question will this throttle body fit with the aem brute force cai? Also does it require a tune and would a spacer kit help or would it be a waste?

Asked by: dg - 2/4/2018
Customer Answer This throttle body will fit with most cold air intake kits, though coupler fitment can be a wee tight. BBK's throttle body does not require a tune. We do not recommend using throttle body spacers with BBK's throttle body, since most spacers are the factory diameter.

Customer Question Will this fit the 2018 models?

Asked by: Brandon M - 1/13/2018
Customer Answer Unfortunately, neither BBK nor ourselves have a fitment confirmation of this throttle body on the 2018 F150 5.0L Models as of yet. We'll hopefully hear something from BBK soon.

Customer Question What is the benefits of this over the grams perf. 85mm? Any pros and cons of either or is it really just the cost difference? I’ll be using this in conjunction with an S&B CAI and down the road plan on going with a boss 302 manifold, Livewire TS, long tubes, and a corsa catback.

Asked by: Will - 10/11/2017
Customer Answer We haven't had the chance to try the Grams Performance throttle body as of yet, though we're hoping to give it a shot here in the near future. Both are functionally similar, though the Grams throttle body has a different style TPS sensor. Their construction methods are also slightly different, but it's tough to say which would lead to better longevity.

Customer Question Can I pair this 85mm throttle body with an Airaid cold air intake? Would I need a bigger couple boot for the intake tube connecting to the TB?

Asked by: Adrian - 8/8/2017

Customer Question Is the BBK 85 complete or do you need to reuse some components from the factory TB? Does Ford Performance(Racing)offer an 85 TB?

Asked by: Charlie - 5/22/2017
Customer Answer The BBK 85mm throttle body is a 100% complete unit, and does not require transfer of the stock motor assembly or throttle position sensor. Ford Racing has not yet released an upgraded throttle body for the 2015+ Coyote 5.0L applications, from my understanding.

Customer Question Have you ran any test vehicles with this installed? Curious if it decreased fuel mileage as your increasing air intake.

Asked by: Kris - 4/1/2017
Customer Answer We did install this kit on our 2015 F150 5.0L Desert Runner Truck, but it was tuned and equipped with an intake kit at the same time, so it picked up a few mpg, if anything. We haven't tested the throttle body as a standalone modification, unfortunately.

Customer Question If I were to install the 85mm bbk throttle body, a k&n cold air intake and a borla catback exhausted will these require a tune and if yes would a 5 star live wire digital tuner work?

Asked by: Alex - 11/14/2016
Customer Answer You would not technically require a tune even with all three of those modifications. That being said, a tune would be beneficial at that point just so you're maximizing gains.

Customer Question Any advantages from 85mm to 90mm throttle bodies? I try to determine which one to get

Asked by: Kyle - 5/15/2016
Customer Answer Technically, the 90mm throttle body has more power potential, but it's really only noticeable if you're using it in conjunction with a centrifugal supercharger, nitrous, a custom turbo kit, or if you're doing a full bolt-on build with a Boss 302 manifold and long tube headers. The 90mm throttle body is also pretty tough to tune perfectly for daily driving. In general, we recommend the 85mm throttle body due to its easier tunability, and the fact that gains are still good with more mild performance builds.

Customer Question Just to be clear on the last question.. This throttle body will work with a Roush cold air intake that fit the stock 2015 5 liter engine throttle body butt it will be a tight fit?.. Can this throttle body use the Airaid poweraid throttle body spacer?

Asked by: Michael - 3/28/2016
Customer Answer The throttle body can be use with a Roush Cold Air Intake, though the coupler that connects the Roush inlet tubing to the throttle body is designed for the stock throttle body. The BBK throttle body isn't overly huge, but it can be a tight fit for that coupler. As for the throttle body spacer, while it will technically fit, we don't recommend using it. The Airaid spacers are designed for the factory throttle body and are the stock diameter, so all you'd be doing is rerestricting airflow after the BBK unit. We strongly recommend doing either one or the other.

Customer Question will this fit on a Roush intake ?

Asked by: carl - 2/19/2016
Customer Answer The throttle body will fit with Roush's intake, though fitment of the coupler between the intake kit and throttle body can be pretty tight. You may have to heat/lube the coupler to get it to fit.
