Upgrading the Intake System on our 2016 ST Project Car

Right from the beginning, we knew our 2016 Focus ST project car was destined for greatness. While the ST pumps out some respectable numbers from the factory, we weren't about to settle with stock power output. That's why we put in the work and prepared for the inevitable power increase by upgrading our intake system with a few essentials from some of our favorite brands. Here's what we did:

MBRP 3" Air Intake Kit

MBRP's Air Intake Kit comes standard with bigger, 3" diameter tubing that moves air much more efficiently than the stock tubing, which aided in improving our ST's turbo spool, throttle response, fuel economy, and power potential. The kit is extremely easy to install and simply drops right into place of stock without any cutting or drilling. The intake even fits with the stock ST's stock engine cover and has a black finish that makes it blend right in with the rest of the engine bay.

K&N Oiled Air Filter

Better safe than sorry, right? On top of the MBRP Air Intake Kit, we installed K&N's Oiled Air Filter to further improve filtration efficiency and increase potential for power adders down the road. The K&N Air Filter is ridiculously easy to install, as we expected from industry leaders K&N.
