If you need something with better performance and up to 2.5" of height, a pair of Bilstein B8 5100 front shocks will not disappoint you. These front shocks are the perfect replacements for the stock leveling components and come backed by Bilstein's legendary quality and performance. The Bilstein B8 5100 shocks are built from scratch to offer your Ranger a very defined experience. An adjustable height from 0 to 2.5" allows you to raise the Ranger to your liking and fit larger off-road tires. This increased height and potential new tires help protect your Ranger from off-road obstacles and creates a better driving experience out in the dirt. The specialized valving, high-quality piston and other great components of these shocks provide excellent off-road performance, increased wheel travel, and better handling!

Features Better Components & Installs Easily

The Bilstein Ranger 5100 front shocks replaces your stock OEM coilover suspension and use the best components for excellence. The 5100 rear shocks are built around a monotube, nitrogen gas-charged design for fade-free performance. Each shock uses self-adjusting deflective disc valving, which adapts to different road conditions and provides excellent response in almost any application. The shock's digressive piston adapts to changing road conditions. The smooth body of each shock is made out of heavy-duty steel and features a 46mm diameter build for a strong shock. Snap-in grooves allow you to make height adjustments between 0 and 2.5". A zinc-plated finish and a Triple-C coating adds a great look. When collapsed, the shock reaches 14.59" and 19.26" when fully extended. Bilstein includes all necessary installation instruction and hardware.

2021 Ford Ranger FX4

The 5100’s installed at all four corners completely removed the “bouncy” effect that many report with the off-road tuned FX4 shocks. The vehicle is now much more composed and comfortable on road, without any loss of off road performance. Highly recommended.

2019 Ranger

Installation: Took some work to get one of the stock coil-overs apart, mainly because I didn't know what I was doing and the top bolt was very rusted... it's literally the only piece of rust on the whole truck. I hit the 2nd one with a wire wheel and some wd40 and it came off easily once the spring was compressed. Setup: 5100 front, stock rear. 2.5 inch (max) lift in the front. 2019 Ranger XLT sport 4x4 The feel: The 5100's themselves are fantastic. The front end feels WAY WAY better. It soaks up the bumps (very rocky roads speed bumps immediately feel better) and feels more solid at the same time. The damping is just way better than stock. Gone is the massive dive when stopping, and off-road on rocky roads is no bumpier than stock. If anything it's smoother. She feels more planted.

2022 Ford Ranger

I put Bilstein 5100s on my 2022 2WD Ford Ranger Super Cab. These shocks totally transformed the ride of the truck. If you think your ride is too bouncy this is the ticket! It also helped with cornering. Stage 3 was also great to deal with.

2021 Ranger FX2

The 5100's perform way better than the FX suspension. Much better handling over washboard, front and rear. More stable on the road with less roll in corners and minimal brake dive. Install wasn't too bad just need patience and rent the correct tools. Shock top mount bolts are a bit soft be careful with the torque wrench (twisted one off).

2019 Ford Ranger FX4

Installation wasn't too bad, but it took some real compression to get the stock coils off. Be careful of the top bolt because the small part on top to get a wrench on twisted off on one of them. Ended up having to cut off the bolt to get it all apart. Highly recommend taking off the CV nut to have enough give to get the strut in and out. The ride on the truck is amazing now. It feels planted and no longer dives when braking. We took the truck on some rough country roads and it rode smooth. The OEM FX shocks are not near the quality of the Bilsteins on the front or back. Set mine at the 3rd notch just because I tow a bit and didn't want the truck to squat too bad when loaded. It brought the front of the truck up about 1.3 inches. It has a slight rake still, but looks much better.

These strut cartridges are designed to use your factory springs and spring mounts, and have several height options you can choose from while building them.

How do you adjust the height on these? I’ve had the 5100 rears for a while already so thinking of doing the fronts now. My Lariat is stock height, will these level the front with the back?

These front strut assemblies adjust using C-clips and grooves on the shock body itself, allowing you to put the spring seat at different locations to pick your ride height. This does require full disassembly of the strut and compressing the spring. We strongly recommend using a wall-mount or floor-mount spring compressor, due to the diameter and strength of the spring.

In the 4wd Bilstein strut package you guys said it will work on a RWD truck but it just may sit higher than the amount of lift stated. Is it the same case for these as well? For instance my front end is 2.5” lower than my rear. Do you think if I set the strut at the 1.8” setting it will sit more like a 2.0”?

Unfortunately, we can't guarantee a specific ride height. There's too many variables regarding curb weights, suspension wear and tear, etc. All we can say is that you'll get a smidge more ride height on an RWD truck than on a 4WD truck.

I have a RC lift spacer already installed, can I still use these to help with ride quality? If I leave the spacer do Inset the shocks at zero lift? Hoping to avoid the cost of removing the suspension out again.

You can use these struts on the 0" ride setting with your Rough Country leveling spacers. However, you will end up having to do a lot of work, since the Bilstein 5100s require you to transfer over your truck's factory springs, upper mount, spring perches, and isolators.
