I just replaced the old 5100's I had on a 2011 F150 Fx4. Got about 40k out of the rears, the fronts seem to be doing fine. Easy install, about an hour to do both sides. Re-leveled the truck, look forward to a lot of testing miles.

Took 15 mins with cordless impacts. They are a little tough to compress by hand but it can be done. The ride quality is excellent compared to the stocks. No more rear end step out when hitting bumps. These shocks are definitely worth the money!

My truck has 62000 miles and I felt like it was time for new shocks. Looked around and read a bunch of reviews, finally decided on the bilstein 5100s. Great choice. Truck rides so much better. I highly recommend them

Customer Question I own a 2012 F-150 with a stock rear-end. Looking at running the ReadyLift 1.5" add-a-spring kit to decrease sag when towing, will this shock fit with the add-a-spring?

Asked by: Garrett - 9/3/2022
Customer Answer This shock only works with up to 1" of rear lift. If you want a shock that will work with up to 1.5" of lift, check out the Eibach Pro-Lift Rear shock that can handle 1.5" lift.

Customer Question 33-187501 I have a 2013 f150 rwd with the 2 inch lift bilstein shocks up front and a add a leaf on the rear. I recently started carring more gear and now my trucks stance isnt quite right. I will probably be adding a 1.5 inch block to counter this stance issue, but i will also need new shocks. I believe these 4wd shocks should work with the add a leaf and 1.5 inch block. Am i correct?

Asked by: Joe - 12/26/2020
Customer Answer These shocks will likely not work with what you're trying to do. The Bilsteins are only rated for 1" of height over stock, and would not be able to handle the combination of a 1.5" rear block and add-a-leaf kit. You would need a rear shock that can handle 1.5" to 2" of ride height on a 4WD truck. Eibach's Pro-Truck Shock would work, though you do have a few other options. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can give you other potential options.

Customer Question I have a 2013 FX2 and would like to get a 2 inch rear block kit. Would I need these shocks to replace the stock ones or would the 2wd Bilstein's be better?

Asked by: Drew - 5/10/2019
Customer Answer You would need this 4WD version. The 4WD version will be in a much more optimal range of travel than the shorter RWD-specific 5100s.

Customer Question Why is there different part numbers between 13 and 14 f150 4x4 if the body changed in 15?

Asked by: Jim - 4/17/2019
Customer Answer According to Bilstein, there's a slight difference in travel between the 2013 and 2014 models, but we find it just as baffling as everyone else.

Customer Question I just added air springs to the rear for towing applications...Will these add more stability for towing? Also what’s an average mileage to replace shocks...im still running factory at 60k miles on a 2012 f150 4WD...

Asked by: Jared - 8/25/2018
Customer Answer They can help with general rear-end stability in general. As for mileage, it really depends on how hard you're using them and how much off-road driving you're doing. If you're predominantly doing on-road driving and towing, there's no reason these shocks won't have the same or longer lifespan than the factory shocks.

Customer Question Have a 2010 2wd F150 added a 2" leveling kit in front and 1.5" rear block, can I use this shock or do I have to use the one for 2wd?

Asked by: J - 7/17/2018
Customer Answer This shock would actually put you in a more ideal range of travel than the RWD-specific shock, since you have that 1.5" rear block.

Customer Question Will these fit a 2013 FX2 with a 1.5" rear block? I believe it is the same size block in the FX4's. Also I tow a lot, are these the shocks to go with?

Asked by: Paul - 4/28/2018
Customer Answer Yep. These shocks will work just fine on an RWD truck with 1.5" rear blocks, and will be in a more optimal range of travel than the RWD-specific Bilstein 5100s. The shocks will not effect your trucks towing ability whatsoever, though their handling improvements can help make your truck feel more stable when towing.

Customer Question Will these shocks work for an 09 f150 with 2.5 inch leveling kit?

Asked by: Traci - 10/5/2017
Customer Answer Yep. This rear shock is not effected by front leveling kits, and Bilstein states that it can handle up to 1" of additional rear lift.

Customer Question I have a 2011 fx4 eco, with a 3" ready lift leveling kit, and the rear end has gotten super squirrelly now. I'm sure my shocks need replacing and was wondering if these 5100s (combined with the pro comp add a leaf) will be compatible and reduce the swaying problem that I'm having now.(?) It's like I'm driving a boat anytime I change lanes or stomp the gas. Which I tend to do a lot!

Asked by: Michael - 5/25/2017
Customer Answer This shock will work with Pro Comp's Add-a-Leaf Kit, and can help reduce rear-end instability caused by the factory shocks.

Customer Question Will this shock work with a 3" rear block?

Asked by: 2014 ecoboost - 4/13/2017
Customer Answer Yep. The shock is long enough to work with up to a 3" rear block or a 1.5" add-a-leaf kit.

Customer Question I'm currently running a 6 inch rough country lift kit and a 3 in body lift the truck is. A 2013 RWD would this work or should I look into some other brand?

Asked by: Hector - 9/25/2016
Customer Answer This shock would not work, and is meant for F150s at stock ride height or close to it. Depending on the size of your lift kit's rear block, you could use the BDS Fox 2.0 shock for 6" lifts.

Customer Question I have a 2014 st. Long stretch of concrete expressway by my house really gets the rear end bouncing. Would these shocks help my truck with that?

Asked by: Aaron - 8/24/2016
Customer Answer They can help, especially if you have factory rear shocks, though the problem may also just be the expressway,

Customer Question Will these shocks add any height to the rear? Hoping to stay at stock height so I can still fit in my garage.

Asked by: Aaron - 8/21/2016
Customer Answer These shocks do not add ride height. The only parts that increase rear ride height are larger rear blocks, add-a-leaf kits, and/or new leaf packs.

Customer Question Will these fit a 2015 f150?

Asked by: Dpeterz - 3/23/2016
Customer Answer The 5100 Series rear shock will technically bolt up to a 2015-2016 F150. However, Bilstein doesn't officially list those trucks as a confirmed application, and we're not 100% certain if they're going to release a 2015-2016 F150-specific rear shock like a few other companies have due to the decreased weight of the newer trucks.

Customer Question The Bilstein 5100 for the front, $209, appears to come as a set (one for the left and one for the right). But the Bilstein 5100 for the rear, $85, appears to be for just one side. Is that correct? Or is the $85 for the pair?

Asked by: Kenny - 2/16/2016
Customer Answer The Bilstein 5100 rear shocks are sold individually, and for the listed price you get a single shock. A quantity of two will generally be required for most applications.

Customer Question Hi, I have a 5" lift on my 2009 Ford F-150. I was wondering which rear shocks would fit my truck? Thanks

Asked by: Tyler Hendrickson - 7/9/2015
Customer Answer It really depends on the size of the rear block that was included with your 5" lift kit. This shock won't work if you have larger than a 3" block. Honestly, your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get specific about your lift kit.

Customer Question Are these shocks in stock? I have a '14 f150 4x4 with no lift. Are these direct replacement? Can I get these delivered on Tuesday the 10th? Thanks.

Asked by: Freddy - 2/9/2015
Customer Answer This shock is a direct replacement for your F150's stock shocks, but if you need expedited shipping, you'll need to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433.

Customer Question If I run a Ready Lift 3" block kit which shock can I run?

Asked by: RobT - 1/30/2015
Customer Answer As long as you're not doing too much off-roading, especially where you'd be articulating a whole ton, you could run this Bilstein shock. If you are planning on getting your truck dirty, you may want to consider the ICON 2.0 Aluminum Series or the FOX 2.0 IFPs.
