Improves Top-End Power and Performance

The 3.0L Powerstroke under the hood of your 2018-2019 F150 is a workhorse of a motor, but even it can run out of steam in the higher RPMs due to heat soak of your F150's stock intercooler. The stock intercoolers small size, basic design, and plastic end tanks just don't do your truck any favors. aFe's Complete aFe Bladerunner GT Series Intercooler with Tubing improves both the airflow moving from your F150's turbocharger into its motor as well greatly reducing charge temperatures so that your 3.0L Powerstroke picks up more horsepower and torque, especially in the upper portions of the rev range. The improvement in both airflow volume and velocity also helps give your diesel F150 improved throttle response to really get your truck off-the-line performance improvements. This kit includes a complete aFe intercooler, aFe cold-side pipe, and an aFe hot-side pipe that all work together to get your 3.0L Powerstroke the performance it needs to push the limits of its capabilities both on and off the road.

All-Aluminum Intercooler with Larger and More Efficient Tubing

The aFe Bladerunner Intercooler and Tubing Kit provides a huge improvement in intercooler volume and airflow efficiency in a high-quality package. This kit is built around one of aFe's Bladerunner intercoolers that has a larger core and more surface area than stock. Each intercooler features an all-aluminum design with aluminum end tanks that help dissipate heat more effectively than the stock plastic end tanks. The intercooler's core uses a bar-plate design that improves heat dissipation over the stock tube-fin intercooler. The intercooler tubing is both larger than stock and uses smoother bends than the factory intercooler tubing in order to reduce restrictions and back pressure and get a larger amount of air form your turbo, through your intercooler, and into your 3.0L Powerstroke. The cold-side tube comes standard with a 1/8" NPT port that can be used for installing an additional sensor or a water-methanol system.

I have F-150 3.0L and want to install a bull bar; however, I was told by the manufacturer that it will affect my cooling / intercooler. Would this intercooler help with this issue? Cheers, Nenad

That depends a lot of the bull bar. If it has a solid front skid, or if it's overly large to block airflow, then an aftermarket intercooler still probably won't help you that much. That being said, a lot of bull bars don't overly effect airflow to the intercooler to make a difference in performance or reliability. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about what bull bar you're looking at.

will it help with overheating while towing?

Likely not. While this will help with IATs and can get you extra power, it won't help much in keeping coolant or transmission fluid temperatures under control. Your best bet would be an upgraded radiator, however, Mishimoto has not outright confirmed fitment of their 2015-2020 F150 Radiator on the diesel trucks.

Does this relocate the intercooler so that it no longer hangs down behind the bumper? Like the high-mount intercooler kits do for the EcoBoost trucks?

It does not. This kit still mounts the intercooler in the stock location. Unfortunately, I don't believe a high-mount intercooler is available yet for the 2018-2019 3.0L Powerstrokes.
