Customer Question With any of the 93 tubes once your running 93 fuel then load the tune do you need to change to sport mode or is the tune recognized in normal as well?

Customer Answer The tune itself will have more increases compared to the stock tune using sport mode so you do not have to use sport mode. However 5 star does build changes into the strategy of the transmission just like the stock tune. So using sport mode with the 5 star tune loaded, will make the shifting a little more aggressive just like it does on the stock tune.

Customer Question 2020 3.0L TT Lincoln Aviator AWD with towing. & dynamic handling pkgs: Same tunes as Ford equivalent vehicle, right? How much extra for a change/additional to the 5 tunes offered?

Customer Answer According to SCT, they do not have any tuning devices compatible with the 2020 Lincoln Navigator so this listing for the BDX will not work for you.

Customer Question I have a 2021 Explorer ST model year, is this only compatible for 2020 model year??

Customer Answer According to SCT, this device now has support for the 2021 Explorers. We have updated our listing. That being said, if you do order this, you'll probably want to update your device's firmware, since this support is very new and your device may have been on a shelf during that time.

Customer Answer SCT has only confirmed compatibility with the STs. Hopefully SCT will offer support to the rest of the 3.0L EcoBoost Explorers here in the near future.

Customer Question Will this tuner void my factory warranty for the manufacture/engine...I use only 91 octane @ 400hp...What will be my overall hp with your tuner...Do you offer any type of guarantee/warranty with your tuner kits ?

Customer Answer There is always a chance that aftermarket tuning can be discovered by your dealer, and they may refuse to perform powertrain-related repairs under the terms of your factory powertrain warranty, though your bumper-to-bumper warranty would still be intact. As for power, 5-Star got roughly 412 horsepower and 530lb-ft of torque at the tires using 93 octane, versus 310 horsepower and 371lb-ft at the tires with the stock tune. With 91, you'll see slightly less power, but should still see a gain over stock. We do offer our aftermarket tuning warranty for the 3.0L Explorers at additional cost. Customer Question What kind of horsepower gains could I expect on an otherwise stock 2020 Explorer ST running 87 or 87 Octane tunes? Also wondering if my spark plugs would need to be re gapped.

Customer Answer 5-Star's test Explorer ST hit 326 horsepower at the tires versus a stock 297 using 93 octane. Using 87 octane, you'd be a a good bit below that, but so will your stock numbers. You may be able to hit around 300 horsepower, but it's tough to say. We have not dynoed an Explorer ST ourselves as of yet.

Customer Answer That depends entirely on what fuel octane you're running, as well as your supporting mods and what specific tune you're running. 5-Star's test vehicle hit 310hp at the tires with the stock tune and 412hp with a 5-Star 93 octane Performance Tune. The Daily Street tunes will make less power, especially if you're using lower fuel octane.
