This system is powered by two independent motors that get their signal directly from the door locking mechanism to create an instantaneous sturdy step to help propel the driver into the cab. The importance of it going off of the locking mechanism is that when the door is open, these steps will not randomly retract.AMP Research also ensured that all materials that go into making this product are created to match OEM specifications and are also tested to withstand rain, snow, mud, heat, and even the colder climates that use salt on the roadways. AMP Research specifically took the time to design this Xtreme series to be able to withstand sub-zero conditions, mud caked rocker panels and fine dust or sand. They have a high textured powdered coat finish that not only resists corrosion but also provides the maximum amount of traction for you to be able to get in and out of your truck with ease.

Hardware Included For Easy Installation

AMP Research designed these steps to be able to fit flush against the body of your truck. Each nut, bolt, zip tie, and wiretaps that is required for installation is included with the purchase of the product with detailed instructions as well. AMP Research also includes an OEM Wiring harness that plugs directly into your vehicles OBD-II port for ease of installation to help provide quick and easy use. Installing this product requires minimal drilling, but that's it, there is no welding or cutting that is required to install these steps on your truck. These also include LED lights that light up once the steps are deployed. An important note to this product is that once they are deployed, they sit about 12-14 inches from the interior floor board to the top of the deployed step.

Not Compatible with 2022 Super Dutys: these steps will not work on 2022 Super Duty models due to changes made in the OBD-II configuration. Installing these steps on 2022 Super Dutys may damage your truck's PCM/ECU.
