Customer Question how do these compare to the fox 2.5 non dsc. Also what height do these come preset at?

Asked by: 14rubyfx4 - 5/15/2020
Customer Answer ICON's 2.5 are stiffer than the Fox 2.5s on the street by a good margin, thanks to their digressive valving and fairly high-rate spring. That being said, both of those things have far better energy absorption off-road, and ride smoother off-road than the Fox 2.5s over really rough terrain. The ICON's come preset at around 2.5" of ride height.

Customer Question I currently have 5.7 of backspacing and was wondering if the remote reservoirs would clear? It said minimum of 5 inch backspacing, but I am confused because I have more than 5 inch of backspace but technically 5.7 is closer to the hub than 5 inch backspace.

Asked by: Stephen - 12/10/2016
Customer Answer The reservoirs require a wheel with a maximum backspace of 5" to prevent rubbing issues with a 12.50" wide tire. If you have more backspace than 5", you'd just have to go with a narrower tire. In your case, you could use something like a 295 wide tire and be okay. I've reworded the backspacing note to make it more clear.

Customer Question Does this coilover kit fit on a 2015 f150? Searching online, the majority of sites state 2014 only.

Asked by: Alex - 2/3/2015
Customer Answer That was actually a mistake on our part, and these coilovers won't fit the 2015 F150s without custom modifications. Technically, the coilovers will bolt up to a 2015, but the hose routing for the reservoirs is different between the 2014 and 2015 F150s. ICON is currently working on revised coilovers for the 2015 F150s that will have new valving and other internal changes, which should be available here in the next 60 days.

Customer Question Hello and Happy New Year! I wanted to know if these would work on my 2014 f150 4x4 with a Mcgaughys 6.5 lift kit in place of running that strut spacer that came in there kit ? Thanks

Asked by: David - 1/5/2015
Customer Answer No, they would not. These coilovers are not long enough to work in a standalone application with a 6" or taller lift kit. They could be used with the kit's strut spacer, if you wanted to improve performance. However, if you're looking for full-length coilover for your lift, then take a look at our BDS Fox 2.5 Coilovers for 6"+ lift kits.
