Was expecting a huge difference from the bilstein 5100's I was running but am disappointed with the results. The overall quality of the parts is fantastic and installation was simple. The ride in my opinion is nearly identical. The only noticeable improvement was road cornering. Certainly happy I didn't buy the Stage-II kit. For $1,600 there must be a vast improvement over cheaper kits. Needless to say this kit did not achieve my expectations and I will be ordering a normal 4-6 lift kit. 5-stars for quality and installation 2-stars for ride improvement over the Bilstein Kits

Installed the stage one kit in under a hour. Pretty impressive ride quality and handling. I found on a couple high speed corners that the truck kicked out sideways instead of a ton of body roll like before. I drive alot of farm machinery roads with broken pavement at highway speed with no issues good product. My only complaint is the picture shows boots on the rear shocks but it didn't come with any.

Decided to lift my truck the right way and used this kit to replace the rough country 2.5 leveling kit I put on a few years ago. I couldn't be happier. I left the 1 inch blocks on the back and the truck is dead even. The ride is great and the truck does not roll as much in the corners. I was worried about the ride being to rough but I don't think it is at all. Feels well planted on the road. Wish I would have installed these the first go around.

I was debating between these Icons and the Fox 2.5 coilovers. Boy am I glad I went with Icon!! The truck rides smooth and handles great! I left it at the recommended height that they were set at from the factory and it leveled out my truck.

Customer Question I am considering an upgraded suspension. I have a 2013 Ford F-150 Limited. I am considering keeping the 22" rims and just increasing the tire size to 35x12.50R22. Would this be acceptable. Also, I want to keep the back of the truck height raised over the front what block height would I need for this? Thanks

Asked by: fvanhook - 9/1/2020
Customer Answer You would likely not be able to clear a 35x12.50" without significant amounts of trimming, even at the coilovers' maximum 3" ride height setting. As far as the rear, your rear block choice will depend on how high you set the coilovers and how much rake you're going for. Secondly, ICON's 2.5s do tend to ride pretty stiff, and may not bet the best choice for you depending on what you're doing with your truck. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about what you're going for.

Customer Answer ICON's 2.0 Shock Boot is here. You will need a quantity of two.

Customer Question Will these shocks work with my wheel set up 22x12 on toyos open country on F-150 2012? Need answer ASAP need some good shocks thanks

Asked by: Ventura Amparan - 11/4/2018
Customer Answer That's going to depend entirely on the offset and backspacing of the wheels you're planning to use as well as the specific tire size you're looking at. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific.

Customer Question I have a set of 22x12 with 33s Toyo mts on a 3in spacer with these coilovers be the same height and run smoother?

Asked by: Venss - 9/5/2018
Customer Answer Out of the box, these coilovers are set at about 2.5" of extra ride height over stock. To get them up to 3" of ride height, you'd need the ICON 2.5 Coilover Spanner Wrench. These coilovers tend to stiffen up your street ride by a good amount over stock, but in return, you get improved handling and off-road performance. If you're primary concern is on-road ride quality, then your better bet would be a 2.0 coilover like the Halo Lifts Boss 2.0s.

Customer Question I have a 2009 f150 fx4 4x4 with 4 inch lift. How can i get that kit off and put this one on?

Asked by: Alex - 3/21/2017
Customer Answer Unless you find some way to custom fabricate and install a new subframe that relocates your LCAs back to the factory locations, you're not really going to be able to go 100% back to stock and install this kit. Please see the answer I gave you back on March 6th for ideas about what you can do about using ICON's system in conjunction with your lift kit.

Customer Question I have a f150 with a 4 inch lift. If i wanted these shocks what parts would i remove to go back to stock?

Asked by: Alex - 3/4/2017
Customer Answer You really couldn't go back to stock, since that would require removal of your lift kit's cross members, which were likely installed by cutting your F150's subframe. Depending on your lift kit, there's a couple of ways you may be able to get the coilovers to fit onto your truck. The shocks may not work, depending on the size of your rear block. 1). If your lift comes with strut spacers for the front lift, you can simply replace your stock coilovers with the ICONs and set them at a 0" stock ride height. 2). You can remove whatever it is that's giving your truck front lift, only use the ICON coilovers, and then crank them up to their maximum 3" of ride height. However, your suspension geometry may be off, since the crossmembers of the lift are designed for 4" of lift, and your ride quality wouldn't be great with the coilovers at their max height. For the rears, if you downsized to a 2-3" rear block, you could likely get the ICON rear shocks to work, but that will depend on the amount of rake you want. Your best bet would be to call us at 623-434-5277 to get more specific and to go over all your options.

Customer Question First, what height do these come set at? Second, what is the easiest way to adjust them?

Asked by: F150 - 12/5/2015
Customer Answer The come preset at about 2.5" to 2-3/4" out of the box. The easiest way to adjust them is with ICON's 2.5 Coilover Spanner Wrench or other suitable spanner wrench or tool.

Customer Question So if the rear shocks in this kit offer no lift at all why would I even need to change the OEM shocks? Can I buy just the front coilovers? What is the price?

Asked by: scott - 4/2/2015
Customer Answer You technically don't, if you're not looking for additional rear lift. However, the ICON 2.0 rear shocks have more travel, reduced fade, and overall much better off-road performance than the stock rear shocks, and they can handle up-sized rear blocks of up to 3". If you're solely interested in the coilovers, they're available right here.

Customer Question 2 Questions. Im on the line between this kit and the F150Lifts Ultimate 3" Lift Kit. Which one is better, and do they both have a lifetime warranty? For the icon kit, will it work with factory upper control arms or are new ones required?

Asked by: Vinny D - 3/9/2015
Customer Answer Well, your first problem is that "better" is an extremely subjective term. Your second issue is that while the two kits are similar, they're very different in terms of off-road performance and handling, especially where the coilovers are concerned. I could prattle on all day about the technical details, but basically the ICON kit offers better off-road performance than the F150Lifts kit, but it does stiffen up your street ride pretty significantly, though your truck does get less body roll out of the deal. The F150Lifts kit doesn't perform as well off-road or is as heavy-duty as the ICON system, but they do keep your street ride very smooth. You basically need to decide what's best for your truck and what you want to do with it. Both kits do have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. UCAs aren't necessarily required, but they are recommended if you're going to be running either kit at their full 3" ride height or if you're really going to be articulating your suspension off-road.

Customer Question 2-Questions one may seem odd. When mounting the rear ICONS are the tubes up or down (bilsteins tubes were on bottom is why i ask) Also, how do I acquire shock boots?

Asked by: allen - 1/27/2015
Customer Answer The shocks are installed with the main body on the upper mount of your truck. You can find our install guide here. Boots are available, however, your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get a custom package put together.

Customer Question How exactly are the rear 2.0 shocks for the Stage-1 kit I bought adjustable for a 2012 F150? The instructions make no mention how to set them. Also, is it possible to purchase shock boots for the rears? thanks,

Asked by: allen - 1/21/2015
Customer Answer The rear shocks aren't adjustable. Only the front coilovers. The rear shocks can handle up to 2" of extra lift, if you wanted to add a rear block or add-a-leaf kit, but don't require any manual adjustments to do so.

Customer Question Looking to install this kit on a 2011 Ford F150 FX4 Crew Cab 4WD and run 20X12 Fuel Rims with 285/55/20 Nitto Terra Grappler A/T . Will this accommodate ? Thank you

Asked by: Ryan - 1/1/2015
Customer Answer You should be fine, assuming that the offset of those wheels is -44mm. If the wheels have a larger offset (closer to positive), you can run into fitment issues. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can get more specific about the specs of your truck's wheels.

Customer Question Sorry if this a dumb question but this is my first time lifting a truck. Does the rear come with struts only? Do the struts the selves lift up the rear? And will this fit on an ecoboost?

Asked by: Edgar - 11/15/2014
Customer Answer Not dumb at all. We were all learning once. Your truck uses a straight axle in rear with a leaf spring suspension with a pair of shocks as dampers. The ICON Stage 1 kit includes replacement shocks for the rear, but they do not offer any additional lift. To get lift out of the rear, you'll require either a larger rear block or an add-a-leaf kit. This kit will fit an EcoBoost F150, as well as all of the other engine options, as there aren't any differences in the suspension systems.

Customer Question Purchased the Icon stage 1 from y'all for my 2013 F150 super crew 6.5 bed a while back. Left them at the factory setting which leveled the truck. The ride just seems a bit harsh and I'm thinking that's perhaps due to the digressive valving. I'm running Toyo open country 275/70 R18 tires. I've had them balanced now 3 times and the alignment checked twice. Passenger seat vibrates when I'm riding solo. I'm now wondering if I should have gotten the Fox (progressive) coilovers instead. If I take out some of the lift, will that soften/smooth out the ride? They're set at about 2" of lift now.

Asked by: casey - 10/13/2014
Customer Answer Reducing the ride height may help, because it reduces preload on the coilover spring. However, the ride is going to be quite a bit stiffer than stock, regardless of ride height setting. Fox 2.5 Coilovers are likewise pretty stiff, though the Fox 2.0s are pretty smooth. If you're getting vibrations, that may be a separate issue. I'd check suspension and front differential bushings, as well as making sure all of your suspension hardware is torqued down to spec. If none of that helps, give us a call directly at 1-877-578-2433 and we'll see what we can do for you.

Customer Question I have a 2013 F150 Fx4 with a Leer Canopy on the back, I want to level my truck and add some more articulation and bigger tires. I am comparing between the Icon 0-3" stage 1 kit and the Fox 2.0 Stage 1 kit. Any help on the comparison? For double the price am I going to get my moneys worth out of the icon kit? I am looking to run 285-70 R18 Like on your red 5.0 project truck (actually same wheel and tire combo possibly).

Asked by: Nick Swanson 2013 F150 FX4 - 4/5/2014
Customer Answer It really depends on what you're planning on doing with your truck application-wise. While the 3" ride height adjustment is nice, you're not going to need that much if you're only going for a leveled look. Not to mention, the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to articulation is going to be a set of front uniball upper control arms. If you're going to be driving extremely aggressively and really pounding around off-road then the ICON kit all day, every day. If you just do a weekend trail run or like to horse around without getting too crazy, then the Fox kit will probably be a better overall value. Feel free to give us a call directly 1-877-578-2433 if you need some more options or advice.

Customer Question Limited, your truck looks great. I have been looking at this kit for sometime now and I have done a lot of research online but the one question I have not found an answer to is how does the ride compare to stock? I get that it is going to be a world of difference offroad but what is it like on the road? How does it compare? Our roads in Cali are sh**y. I have driven on dirt roads in Alabama that are better then our paved roads out here. If the ride is stiff it is going to suck and shake the truck to pieces over time. If it is too soft well that's not too much fun either. Can you tell me more about how the ride compares? Thanks

Asked by: Dave 2014 F150 4WD - 2/3/2014
Customer Answer The street ride with ICON kit is a bit stiffer than stock. It's not "rough" exactly, but the truck does feel more planted and there's definitely less body roll. The best way I can equate it is that it feels like riding in car with entry-level lowering springs, except, you know, you're much higher in the air. The kit gave our 5.0L truck a lot less body roll and made it feel more planted on the street, even at its higher ride height. I don't think it's stiff enough to cause serious discomfort, but it is noticeable.
