The factory rake on our F150 project truck was driving us crazy from day one. It's not visually appealing and it certainly doesn't offer any benefits in the way of off-road capability so we had to do something about the stance. While the truck was still on its factory wheel and tire combo we installed a Bilstein 5100 kit to bring the nose up, but after jumping up to 33" tires we opted for the Eibach Pro-Truck struts and springs. Get all the details on these kits below!
Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Leveling Shock Kit
The Bilstein 5100 Leveling Struts are, without a doubt, one of the best leveling kit options on the market for the 15-17 F150's. Offering a full 2.1" of lift at their max setting and still maintaining a comfortable ride on the pavement is exactly why we didn't hesitate to install these struts on our 2017 F150. Bilstein's rear shocks help out by providing more stability in the back of the truck and better durability for off-road driving. Each of the shocks in this kit feature an ultra-strong steel body with a zinc plated finish that protects against corrosion and dirt. Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Leveling Shock Kit
Eibach Pro-Truck Sport Shock & Strut Kit (with Springs)
While our Bilstein leveling kit was fantastic, we wanted to grab just a tiny bit more clearance before swapping to 33" Falken Wildpeak tires. To get this extra clearance we installed Eibach's Pro-Truck struts and shocks along with the optional spring upgrade which bumped our F150 up 2.7" in the front. This allowed us plenty of space for the larger 33" tires and gave the truck a properly aggressive stance. Another benefit is the struts themselves feature a performance-oriented monotube design with a 46mm piston that provides improved compression and response over the factory front struts, while reducing body roll and instability on the road. 18x9" Method Roost Wheel (Bronze)
This is the first time we've ever installed a set of bronze wheels on a truck here at Stage 3, and it looks like it might not be the last. These gorgeous dark bronze Method Roost wheels were a welcome change from the bland factory wheels our F150 was rolling on. Method's wheel fits right onto our truck's hub and has a +18mm offset that brings the tires just slightly outside the fender for a clean and aggressive look. 18x9" Method Roost Wheel (Bronze)
LT275/70R18 Falken WildPeak M/T Tires
With our 2017 F150 leveled and the new Method Roost wheels patiently waiting for tires, it was time to get some beefier rubber on our truck. We chose to run Falken's Wildpeak MT in LT275/70R18 (roughly a 33" tire). The Wildpeak MT's are the perfect blend for quiet and smooth daily driving and extreme romps through an off-road trail filled with mud, snow, sand or anything else we might find.
