Overall I do like the product a lot I have a few things/reasons why I give it a 3 star vs 4 or 5: No available training videos on how to use it or what it’s capable of, I don’t even know what half of it’s features are. The actual media screen size is very small compared to the 12.1” overall screen. I can barely see the back up camera and I use the Apple car play for pretty much everything and am just overall disappointed how small the media screen is.. The auto dimming feature is super annoying I can barely see the screen during the day. The heated seats don’t turn off on the passenger side, it goes down to low but never shuts off The cooling seats sometimes work on the butt and not the back and sometimes on both so it’s frustrating when I’m hot and want to cool off the back and it doesn’t work (worked prior to installing) No seat massager controls Can’t seem to sync my contacts or add contacts and again no videos to help Kind of wish you could have some voice capability with the internet browser it’s hard to use and especially since you can’t do anything while driving I’ve never used it and it’s a cool feature so that’s too bad.. All in all I am actually happy with it, the look of it is great and super easy to install but if I’m paying almost $2k for a product like this then I expect a lot more out of it so for that reason I give it a 3 star. If it were cheaper with those issues I’d give it a 4 star.

Overall I really like the new screen. Looks awesome, I can watch videos on YouTube while I wait to go into work and it is very easy to learn how to use the screen and it’s features. One thing I’m not the biggest fan of, is the gps. It’s a little choppy while driving which isn’t too bad. What’s annoying in my opinion is looking for a location. It won’t let you just type out the location that you plan on going to. You have to put everything in a specific order or else you won’t find the location. For example, zip code, street name, building number and so on. If you miss one of those steps, your search won’t show. So for some locations, it is a hassle to find on gps and you’re better off connecting your phone for apple carplay. Even then, the ape CarPlay screen is your regular 8” screen like the stock f150 screen and it won’t take up your whole screen unless you are out of car play. Awesome product in my opinion, but I would look at other screens as well since the gps on this one sucks. Other screens on the market, you’re able to download other forms of gps like ways or google maps. On this screen, you can only use the one that comes with it. Which sucks

I purchased this on 7/1/2020. Once I received it the installation was very easy as advertised plug and play. The unit is well made looks awesome and will change the look of your dash like the higher model F-150 or even better! The only drawback I had was my reverse camera feature wasn’t working. I reached out to GUA and spoke to Nathan and he told me that ford changes the wiring configuration on newer models so the ground wire in the harness is in a different location on harness plug. They rectify the problem and will be sending me a new harness with that correction. Going forward with new units will have the updated harness. It’s a good buy and well made!

Great Screen
This screen is so much better than the stock 4 inch screen that my truck came with. I love it, especially the Apple Car Play and Navigation but it is not perfect. While the steering wheel controls work, they take a little bit to respond. I also don’t like how Apple Car Play does not recognize your phone if you leave it plugged in when you turn the truck off. To get it to recognize it after a restart, you have to unplug your phone and plug it back in. Also my backup camera currently is not working, but GU Autotech is working hard to remedy the situation. The good definitely outweigh the bad and I would buy again. *UPDATE* They sent me a new cable and the backup camera works. The customer service during this has been excellent.

2016 F150
The install was easy, and it looks great once installed. They even provided a pair plastic pry tools which was a nice touch. For the most part, I can control all the stock functions from the unit (climate control, heated seats, backup camera, etc.), but the overall operation of the unit has a slight lag and little bugs here and there. The unit itself takes a noticeable amount of time to boot up when you first start up the truck. There is a slight lag and sometimes your touch doesn’t register when you touch an icon to access a different applications and functions. It’s not smooth and “snappy” like newer touch screen devices. The steering wheel controls are finicky. When you try to skip a song, sometimes it fast forwards it instead and when using the volume control, you must push it multiple times to get the volume to change one time (up or down). Apple Car Play doesn’t link up with your iPhone automatically if you leave it plugged in after you turned off your truck. For instance, after you run inside the gas station and turn your truck back on, you must unplug your phone and plug it back in for it work. Even with the screen brightness turned all the way up, the screen is difficult to see during daylight with no cloud cover. I know am being over critical and nitpicky, but for the price of a 65” OLED TV or a brand new 1TB iPad Pro, I would expect it to perform nearly flawless. In my opinion, the touch screen performs at the level of technology from 5-10 years ago (first world problems, I know). Unfortunately, I didn’t read the fine print and the item is non-returnable once installed. My suggestion, save your money and spend it on other upgrades.

This unit is overpriced and HORRBILE! I purchased in 2020 and now on my 3rd broken unit and 5th CAN BOX. GUA customer service is horrible and lack luster at best! There are many other options for less money and way better functionality than this POS unit. Buyers beware!! RUN!! The CAN BOX stops working and kills EVERYTHING! Notice the static lines at the bottom? This kills the functions of the A/C, steering wheel controls, etc! Might as well just buy a base model truck because that’s what you’ll end up with if you purchase and install this faulty hardware!

Overall I have enjoyed this product. The backup camera is night and day. When I first installed it the backup camera wouldn't work. Because I had the 4in screen I needed a different wiring harness that didn't come in the kit. The customer service was extremely nice and sent one right out to me. The only downfall I've seen is the new screen come with 2 new usbs so the factory ones are disabled. What I haven't been able to figure out is there isn't a way to use my rear defrost now. Overall after getting the harness been very happy

Customer Question I have a 2015 F-150 XLT with Sync 2 w/ Navi & Heated Seats, I have watched a number of videos for install and features. I wanted to ask. In GU's YouTube video it recommends upgrading the GPS unit rather than using the Factory one. On STAGE 3's YouTube channel it says the factory one will work. Do I need to upgrade my GPS module and how is this done? Will it require drilling and or external mounting? ALSO, I have seen a few reviews that mentioned some buggy performance ; I.e. Heated seat issues, passenger not turning off, and or Navigation is choppy and not as efficient as the OEM, and Auto Dimming issues on the screen during the day. Have these issues been resolved with patches or instructions? I am really really interested in upgrading to this and this seems like the best option on the market, but before I spend 1700$ I want to really feel happy about the commitment. Additionally, I am Active Duty Military and I saw on one of the reviews that you offers these discounts, I was wondering how much that discount would affect final price. I am REALLY interested and I'd love to talk to someone about this is they have the time.

Asked by: Sean - 7/29/2021
Customer Answer This particular unit is not compatible with heated seats. The Version 2 Multimedia Station keeps the stock heated seat function. The unit replaces the stock navigation system with its own version, though to use it, you will need to use GU Auto Tech's included GPS antenna, which may require drilling depending on where you install it. We opted to not use the GPS system on our truck, due to the fact that we used Apple CarPlay for navigation. As far as issues, if you end up having any, you can contact us and we can assist in troubleshooting or dealing with warranty issues. For pricing or a military discount, please give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected].

Asked by: Jacob - 12/1/2020
Customer Answer That depends entirely on how your amp and subs are setup. In theory, you shouldn't have a problem, assuming your current amp is solely powering the door speakers independently of the head unit (though 1500 watts is a lot to put through KS Speakers). However, I would turn your aftermarket amp's output power down (if possible) so that you don't accidentally blow the speakers.

Customer Question I watched your video on YouTube and clicked the link to your website, the video shows that the GU Auto Tech 12.1" is compatible with the B&O system. Your web page stated "without B&O systems". Is there a different model for the ford B&O system?
