2011 Ford F150
I ordered the auto spring Add-a-leaf kit after much debate between the springs or just a lift block for the rear of my 2011 XLT F150. In the end the additional payload capacity as well as the ~2' lift the kit provided was the deciding factor. After placing my order via the Stage 3 motorsports website, the kit arrived in a few short days. The directions included were very easy to follow and the installation took roughly 2.5 hours which I completed in my driveway with a few jack stands and floor jack. I would recommend spraying some penetrating lube prior to starting however. Overall I thought the components of the Auto Spring kit (leafs and hardware) was of top quality and I would recommend it to others. In addition to the previously mentioned benefits, the springs seem to help with some wheel hop when I happen to get a little overzealous with the gas pedal (on accident of course).

Customer Question What the difference between this kit and the other add a leaf kit besides price ? I see there is 2 different kits for the 2014 f150 .

Asked by: Conrad - 8/6/2023
Customer Answer Auto Spring leaf kit will add an additional 950lbs of capacity where the readylift option does not list how much additional weight they support. Beyond that this Auto Spring kit will settle around the 1.5" mark after they have had a chance to break in so lift height will be the same.

Customer Question I have a 2011 Ford F-150 Raptor SVT. I’m about to have my stock OEM Fox shocks rebuilt with the Eibach springs installed. Will this add a leaf kit work with my Raptor to lift it 1-2” in the rear? Please let me know. Mahalo. Sheldon

Asked by: Sheldon Ishii - 7/30/2023
Customer Answer The Raptor trimmed trucks do use different rated leaf springs so we could not guarantee fitment or how it would affect the ride compared to the standard rated F150 leaf packs.

Customer Question Will the add a leaf kit work with the Fox 2.0 IFP shocks with no other modifications? The description of the add a leaf says it adds up to 2" of lift and the Fox 2.0 IFP description says it will handle up to 1" of lift.

Asked by: Kyle Flattery - 4/11/2022
Customer Answer We do not recommend the Fox 2.0 shocks with this Add-a-Leaf kit. Unfortunately, the Fox 2.0s can only handle 1" of rear lift, and these Add-a-Leafs tend to add 2" after install, which tends to settle a bit to 1.5" to 1.75" of lift. For shock options that will work with this add-a-leaf kit, give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected].

Customer Question I have two questions. 1. Can the 2009-2014 F150 Auto Spring Rear add-a-leaf kit be installed on a 2013 F-150 Raptor? 2. Should this be possible would you also be able to give me quote to send the leaf kit to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Thank you.

Asked by: Jasper - 4/9/2021
Customer Answer This add-a-leaf kit will not fit a Raptor. The Raptors use an entirely different leaf pack than the standard F150s. You can find our Raptor Rear Suspension Upgrades here.

Customer Question If I install bilstein 6112 in the front at the highest setting And 5100s in the rear, how will my truck sit?

Asked by: Joe - 4/20/2020
Customer Answer Bilstein's 5100s are not long enough to handle the ride height provided by the add-a-leaf kit. You would need a rear shock rated to handle at least 1.5" of ride height. If you do end up going with a shock that can handle the ride height, you'd be roughly 2" higher in the back than front (more or less), after the springs settle. With the 6112s are at 2" of height, you should still have about 1/2" of rake, then you're adding 1.5" of rear ride height on top of that.

Customer Question I have a 2014 Ford F150 FX4. I'm looking at buying the Bilstein 5100's all the way around and maxing out the ride height in the front. The rear 5100's show that it can handle up to 0-1" of lift however this add a leaf kit will raise it higher than that. Will the rear 5100 shocks work with this add-a-leaf kit? I'm content with the rake as I will be towing a lot.

Asked by: Michael - 10/7/2019
Customer Answer We don't recommend violating Bilstein's recommended max ride height, due to possible issues with the shocks and Bilstein's warranty. Your better bet would be a shock that can handle the ride height like the Halo Lifts Boss 2.0 shocks.

Customer Question 2013 F150 157WB 4x4 - I recently installed the 2.5” AS offset leveling spacers with no changes to rear and front is measuring 0.5” higher than rear. I am wanting to get a little bit of rake for towing/hauling. Question, would this AAL kit be the way to obtain that? If so, would I expect a final rake to be 1”-1.25” range? If not, would you recommend block (what size to replace factory block) or other solution?

Asked by: KR2013 - 5/21/2019
Customer Answer If you're currently .50" higher up front, then this add-a-leaf kit would get you roughly where you want. Just keep in mind that these add-a-leafs add about 2" of ride height after they're initially installed, which then settles down to 1.5" of height after some drive time.

Customer Question I have a 2011 fx4 ecoboost f150. I have a 2inch lift front and rear on it already. if i add a leaf would the rear of the truck be to high to wear i need to level it? I plan to haul a small fifth wheel once a month and need the added payload capacity a ad a leaf provides.

Asked by: Rob - 11/20/2018
Customer Answer If you're already at a leveled stance, this add-a-leaf would give you front rake. If you're already running 2" of rear lift, id you add this add-a-leaf kit, you'll need longer rear shocks. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your truck and what you're trying to do.

Customer Question What is the difference between this pro comp and the other pro comp part number PC-13137?

Asked by: Vinny - 5/18/2018
Customer Answer Both kits are extremely similar. Auto Spring packages their products a lot better than Pro Comp, and I'd argue that Auto Spring includes better leaf spring pins, but overall there' not a huge difference in either function or install.

Customer Question 13 fx4 and looking to run these these with Halo boss rear shocks and no block until I get the halo front coils and run their factory 2.75 height and put the block back. Would I sit at factory rake with the leaf and no block then level with coils after putting the block back? I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Asked by: JUSTIN - 3/21/2018
Customer Answer You would end up with at least some amount of front rake after reinstalling the stock block. You have to keep in mind that these trucks sit dead-level at about 2.50" of front leveling/lift over stock. So if the coilovers are set at 2.75" of lift, you'll only have about a .25" of rear rake. Adding another 1.50" of rear height on top of that would result in front rake all over again, though slightly less than stock.

Customer Question I have a 2013 F150 supercab Fx4. Will I be able to run this kit with the fox stage 1 leveling kit? Would the rear block need to be removed to stay level? Thanks.

Asked by: Justin - 3/18/2018
Customer Answer Technically, the Fox 2.0 rear shocks included in the Fox Stage 1 Kit are only rated to handle 1" of ride height over stock, and this add-a-leaf kit adds roughly 1.5" of ride height. This kit will raise your truck's rear ride height and add rake, so if you want to keep your factory stance, you'll need to remove your stock rear block.

Customer Question 2011 F150, 4x4,Crew cab, 6' bed. If I install the Icon Stage 2, 0-3" shock and strut kit with the add a leaf kit will my truck be level?

Asked by: John - 11/21/2017
Customer Answer It will not. In general, to get the 2011-2014 F150s to a dead-level stance, all you need is a 2.5" leveling kit or 2.5" capable coilover. Even at a full 3" of front leveling, putting a 1.5" Add-a-Leaf Kit on the rear will result in some amount of rake. However, that can be a good thing if your truck is running with a loaded bed or towing on a regular basis.

Customer Question I currently have Rancho 5000 rear shocks and Rancho Quicklift struts up front on a 2010 F150 SuperCrew 4WD. If I add the rear leaf kit, will it increase the height in the rear? I added a Leer camper shell and the back is slightly lower due to the weight of the camper. I put new Rancho shocks on the rear but it did not help the height. Thoughts?

Asked by: DanielG - 9/18/2017
Customer Answer Rear shocks alone do not add any ride height to your truck. Only larger rear blocks or add-a-leaf kits can actually increase ride height. That being said, aftermarket rear shocks can generally handle additional rear lift better than the factory shocks, but they can't add lift on their own. This add-a-leaf kit will increase your truck's rear ride height and should be able to handle the additional weight of your camper shell effectively.

Customer Question You kinda answered this already. 5100's top setting in front, these auto spring leaf springs and 5100's in the back. I like the added payload support over blocks. Is the wife gonna Bi*ch? lol Is there different shocks for the rear that may help, or should i do 2nd highest setting in the front and something else in the back, like a block or other springs? I'd like a uniform lift on each end, added payload is a plus, but i cant get go all the way to f350 stiffness.? I like the rake, it doesnt have to be perfectly even lift though, but I dont want more rake.

Asked by: ColeTrain - 8/13/2016
Customer Answer Add-a-Leaf kits will stiffen up rear ride quality by some degree, though the effect is less pronounced with a good set of rear shocks like the Bilstein 5100s. Frankly, lowering the front isn't going to do much to soften the ride in the rear with the Add-a-Leaf Kit, and you'll be adding onto your truck's rake no matter what, since the front Bilstein 5100s don't quite get the truck sitting dead-level on their own. The Add-a-Leaf kit should result it slightly less than stock front rake.

Customer Question Can I add two kits or three to the leaf pack? What is the weight control etc provided by each pack. I understand nothing permits exceeding manufacture limits but :-)

Asked by: Jason - 5/13/2016
Customer Answer You cannot. Only a single Add-a-Leaf kit can be installed. Auto Spring's Add-a-Leaf adds roughly 950lbs of load capacity. If you're looking to do something specific, you'd likely be better off with a custom leaf spring build.

Customer Question if i install the add a leaf kit, will i be able to use the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks?

Asked by: jason - 5/10/2016
Customer Answer Assuming that the Add-a-Leaf Kit is going to be your only source of lift, then yes, you'll be able to reuse the Bilstein 5100s without an issue. If you add a larger rear block in conjunction with the Add-a-Leafs, then you'll likely need longer rear shocks.

Customer Question I have a 2011 FX4 Ecoboost. If I put Bilstein 5100s front and back (highest setting in the front), remove the stock rear block, and install this add-a-leaf kit, will the truck sit level? Any issues you guys see arising from this setup?

Asked by: Taylor - 2/15/2016
Customer Answer You would likely still have a smidge of rake with that setup. The Bilstein's highest ride height setting is rated at 2.25" of lift, and add-a-leaf kits tend to add about 2" of total rear ride height until they settle in. To me, 2.5" of front lift is "dead-level", so you'd likely be about 3/4" to a full inch higher in the rear. The only real issue is that the Bilstein's tend to ride a bit stiff at their full ride height, and add-a-leaf kits tend to add some stiffness, as well, so you would almost definitely lose a smooth ride.

Customer Question If currently have the boss ultimate kit with 2" blocks for the perfect level. If I add these, how much will it screw up my level and what should I do to restore it? Smaller block I assume?

Asked by: Mike - 9/30/2015
Customer Answer The Add-a-Leafs add about 2" of rear ride height out of the box, which usually settles down to 1.5" to 1.75" after some drive time. Depending on how much "final" rear lift you get out of the Add-a-Leaf kit, you may be able to level your truck back out by adjusting your coilovers a bit higher. Otherwise, you may have to drop back down to your factory block.

Customer Question Can I just add this leaf spring to my factory leafs? What size leveling kit will I need for the front the truck now is 1 1/2 higher in the back.2014 xlt super crew 4x4 with a 5 1/2 foot bed. And do you have a kit with everything together? Thank you

Asked by: Russell - 6/30/2015
Customer Answer Yep. This kit just drops into the stock leaf pack without modifications. The leaf springs add about 1-3/4" to 2" of rear ride height, so with your truck currently sitting 1-1/2" taller in the rear, you'll be at a maximum of 3-1/2" higher in the rear. In all honestly, you probably couldn't get your truck totally level, but you could come close with an adjustable coilover like the F150Lift Boss or ICON 2.5s that can adjust up to 3" of front ride height.

Customer Question If I use these add-a-leafs with my 09 F150 XLT with 6 foot bed and 3" blocks, what will the total lift end up being?

Asked by: Josh - 6/16/2015
Customer Answer Probably close to 3.5" over stock (the leafs should add around 2" on top of the block, assuming you're not stacking blocks) after your initial install, and then settling down to 3.25" after some drivetime. You may want to be careful if you're going that high, as that's 4" lift kit territory, and you may require a parking brake cable drop bracket, if not other hardware.

Customer Question 2013 f150 crew cab 6.5" bed 4x4 ecoboost. If I use these springs and a 2.5" block, it will hopefully give me a total of 2.5"-3" rear lift. I'm also planning on the icon stage 2 0"-3" front lift. Will the icon 2.0 rear shock, that comes in the stage 2 kit, work with this rear combination?

Asked by: Vince - 4/21/2015
Customer Answer You'd actually end up with closer to 3.5" of lift initially, before the leaf springs break in a bit. Regardless, the ICON 2.0 rear shocks should only be use with a maximum of a 3" block (which is around 1.5" of lift), and the combination you have in mind is too tall. If you're looking for that much height, you really should just consider grabbing a 4" lift kit, unless you're trying to do something specific.
