This specific model uses pillow optics on the outer lens surface for an even illuminated spread. The 60-½ W x 60-½ H pattern's evenly distributed light spread differs from generic floods, which have been known to operate like heavily diffused spot beams. Diode Dynamics's flood offers a true spread of light to brighten up the countryside at low speeds or when backing up. It has a peak beam intensity of 1,600 candela, uses 1,930 raw lumens and shines 16 lux at ten meters. The light's 3000K color excels as a high contrast light in bad weather or just as a nice alternative look from standard white. These lights are a clear choice for off-road trips, and only off-road. When installed as a pair and in accordance with your state's guidelines, the flood pattern does not meet SAE J581 standards and is not street legal.

Because of its flush 3" size, it will fit snugly on your bumper or truck bed. While it might be natural to assume smaller means weaker, that's not the case with this light pod. High-intensity automotive-type LED chips paired with a total internal reflection (TIR) optic ensure much more light output than your typical optics or reflectors. Standard optics lose light internally, increase glare and do not focus light properly. The TIR optic serves as both the optic and main lens for greater efficiency and output. The TIR receives all the LED's light, directs it where needed, and reduces glare, all at an efficient rate. The light will additionally thrive in all weather conditions and function in temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
