The stock downpipes and factory catalytic converters are the most restrictive components of your F150's 3.5L EcoBoost V6, and if you want your aggressive F150 EcoBoost build to make some big power, you'll need SPD's 3" Catted Downpipes. SPD's Catted Downpipes offer a big improvement in exhaust outflow and efficiency that can see your F150 make awesome levels of power after the right custom tuning. SPD's downpipes come standard with a ceramic finish that gives them superior corrosion resistance than other aluminized downpipes. SPD's catted downpipes even use catalytic converters that don't throw a CEL and help you keep your F150 emissions-compliant and street-legal in most areas. SPD's catted downpipes install right into place of your F150's factory downpipes without cutting or trimming, saving you time and hassles.

3" Diameter Aluminized Steel with Ceramic-Coat Finish

SPD's Catted Downpipes were carefully designed to improve your F150's performance, all while giving you long-term reliability and emissions compliance. SPD's catted downpipes are built around 3" diameter, mandrel-bent tubing that allows for much more efficient exhaust flow with less backpressure than the stock downpipes. SPD's catted downpipes feature catalytic converters designed to avoid CELs, but that still offer improved exhaust flow over the stock cats, but still help prevent CELs and keep your F150 street-legal in non-CARB states. The downpipes are made entirely out of aluminized steel that then receives a gray VHT high-temp ceramic coating to further protect them from corrosion and provide some extra heat insulation. The coating can be re-applied if damaged. SPD's downpipes install in place of your F150's factory downpipes without permanent modifications and come with all their necessary hardware.

2014 F150 XLT 3.5 Ecoboost

Pipes are awesome. Sound great. Highly recommend getting the SPD turbo adapters and install kit while your downpipes are off. Exhaust whistle is much more noticeable, and tone is more grunty. I had clogged cats and needed to replace an O2 sensor so I did everything all at once. Quality is top-notch, install went okay. Had to use a Map/Pro torch to heat up the turbo housings to get two studs out (two studs turned out of the turbos when trying to loosen the downpipe nuts, two others stayed in). Jacob Hozen from SPD is awesome to deal with, if you have any issues, questions, or want to reach out for expedited shipping. Be sure to follow the simple 12-minute break-in procedure included in the instructions.

2012 F150 Ecoboost

At 160k miles, I had one cat nearly fully clogged and the 2nd one starting to throw a code. I purchased this downpipe set mainly because it was within my budget and came in pieces. Because I was doing the install myself, it was important that I could install each piece one at a time and then tighten them all together. It was a pain getting my stock ones off (mainly due to rust), and I even broke one of the turbo to exhaust flange mounting bolts. But in the end, I succeeded. This downpipe not only fixed my issue, but it improved performance and definitely makes the turbo noise more noticeable. Anyone that's rode in the truck since the change with the windows down has commented on the turbo noise (in a good way).

2012 F150 EcoBoost 4x4 KR

Very pleased with this downpipe setup. I ended up just cutting my old ones out and pieced together the new DP underneath the truck. I did turbo adapters and 3in res delete pipe at the same time, and it really opens things up. Turbo whistle is super loud. SPD is great and they make awesome products. Stage 3 has without a doubt become my go to for truck upgrades. Thanks again!

2013 F-150 EcoBoost

This is a perfect fit for the EcoBoost trucks. Finish is top notch, all hardware is easy to use. Replaced my clogged header pipe with these and the truck runs better than it has in a long time.

im looking at the spd high flow downpipes vs the afe high flow downpipes what are the difference between the two other then the spd being 3in and afe bing 3in to 3.5 in and what one sounds more aggressive ?

The SPD Downpipes include 48-state legal catalytic converters, which makes them able to pass emissions testing. The aFes come with high-flow cats which reduce rasp, but can still throw a CEL and have issues passing emissions. The aFe's would arguably have a more aggressive tone due to their less restrictive cats.

Could I use these as direct bolt on downpipes without a custom tune or any other modifications?

We still recommend getting a tune with these downpipes. Since they outflow the factory downpipes, you run the possibility of running lean at high boost or RPM. Tuning also helps keep the cats hot to further reduce the chances of a CEL.

I have a bad Cat and wanted to replace them both at the same time for my truck. I have a diablo sport i3 tuner and just run the factory tunes that came with it. Can I replace them with a set like this and avoid doing custom tunes? should i just get OEM replacement ones? im not going for HUGE gains, but i like the idea of having a set that i will never have to replace again. Thanks.

In theory, these downpipes should work just fine with an i3 and its base tuning. However, we haven't tried the combination ourselves.

I have an SCT X4 tuner and run the 91 octane tune with afe magnum cai. Will this work with my setup without throwing a check engine light?

In theory, you should not throw a CEL with a custom tune and a cold air intake. However, you may want to get your tune rewritted for this downpipe, even if you don't run into CEL issues.
