Customer Question Will the OME heavy spring for a 2020 ford ranger pair along well with my BP 5160s? I have full time bed rack, rock sliders along with a tool box and gunner kennel totally around 500lbs full weight constant or will my bp5160s bottom out?

Asked by: Eddie - 8/18/2025
Customer Answer As long as you have enough weight in the bed of the ranger to not go beyond the 2" max extended length that Bilstein lists for the 5160 shocks, they will work no problem. If you do not plan to have weight in the back of the ranger full time, than the 5160 rear shocks will not be long enough for 3.1" of lift that these leafs will yield with no weight in the bed. You would need to purchase longer shocks without having additional weight in your ranger fulltime.

Customer Question It says it will handle 3.1” rear lift. Does that mean it can do less? I’m looking to marry this with the Eibach 2R kit which can only handle 1.5” in rear

Asked by: Garrett Johnson - 2/28/2024
Customer Answer The height you achieve with these leafs depends on how much weight you put in the bed. These will yield around 3.1" over stock height on an unloaded Ranger. They are designed to help with rear end sag from overland/fulltime bed weight. These would not be recommended on a shock with max height of 1.5" above stock if you don't plan on having full time weight in the bed that would bring the ride height down within that 1.5" above stock height range.

Customer Question What exactly is the difference of these springs compared to the other OME springs available? Is it just that these have more leafs in the pack? If so, can I remove and add leafs as needed?

Asked by: Ace - 1/24/2024
Customer Answer The OME leaf packs all contain a certain amount of leafs to get the extra weight carrying assistance and lift height. If you are familiar in bulding leaf packs, you could make adjustments by removing leafs yourself, but in general we would recommend just going with the lift height you are trying to achieve. Each of our 3 OME listings has the "leaf spring specs: which tells you the thickness of the pack, spring rate and number of leafs in each kit.

Customer Question Does this item increase the payload of my Ranger?

Asked by: Jake - 8/9/2022
Customer Answer It does not. These leaf springs do not increase your Rangers rated payload or towing capacities.
