Customer Question will i be able to run the boss 302 intake manifold with this kit?

Customer Answer The intake tubing and tuning will not be designed for the Boss manifold so you would have to get your own intake fittings to work with the taller manifold as well as have it dyno tuned as the email tuning provided will is only compatible with the factory manifold.

Customer Question The stage 1 and stage 2 both say "tuner included" with no more information about the "tune". Is this strictly fuel/spark adjustments? I'm trying to figure out if transmission shift firmness is adjusted or RPM shift points? Do you have any information on this?

Customer Answer The included tuning does change transmission shift points, shift pressures, and gear holding functions.

Customer Question Do you have to return your PCM to stock before you bring the truck in for service like most tuners? What if the dealer didn’t updates your PCM software? Is like most tuners where you are screwed? I can’t imagine the truck running correctly if PCM is returned to stock.

Customer Answer You're not going to be able to return your truck to stock at all with this kit, since you need the tuning to avoid blowing up your motor. We strongly suggest that you let your dealer know not to do any PCM/ECU updates and possible even get a "No Flash" cover for your OBD-II port.

Customer Question Can this kit safely be run on 87 octane? And does their tunning adjust shift strategy like unleashed and 5star or is it just motor related?

Customer Answer ProCharger's tuning is for 91+ octane only, though it does also adjust transmission function as well as engine parameters. To be totally honest, 5-Star's custom tuning does do a better job with transmission function, tip-in, and other facets of tuning in our experience. If you want to run 87 octane and would prefer a 5-Star custom tune, you're better bet would be to grab the Intercooled Tuner Kit and call us directly at 623-434-5277 for a 5-Star custom tune. Just keep in mind that if 5-Star can tune for 87 octane on this supercharger kit, you won't be hitting ProCharger's rated horsepower and torque figures.

Customer Question What minimum Octane Rating is required for the High Output Kit? Is it safe to operate on 87 Octane as a daily driver / tow vehicle?

Customer Answer ProCharger's tuning is for 91 octane or higher. If you want to use 87 or 89 octane fuel, you'd need a custom tune.

Customer Question Hi, I have a 2012 f150 5.0. What would be the safest and most reliable supercharger kit for a daily driven 5.0? I'm looking at this stage I procharger kit and the edelbrock eforce. What are the differences in power between the two? How much power can the stock internals of the motor and transmission handle? I have 50k miles on my truck now and plan to drive this truck for Atleast another 100k miles and don't want to add to much power that I start blowing parts and risk heavy repairs. I also noticed procharger offers extended warrantys for certain applications. Would I be able to purchase this for my truck.

Customer Answer Both are pretty safe. I'd probably make the argument that the ProCharger Systems are a bit safer, just because they do keep your stock intake manifold and have a pretty linear torque curve and build power as they spool versus Postive-Displacement style superchargers like the Edelbrock E-Forces that have all of their torque all the time. Still, the standard tuning that comes with each supercharger is very safe, and I wouldn't be concerned at running either on a truck with 50,000 miles on it, assuming it's well maintained. This version of the ProCharger is rated at 530 crankshaft horsepower, while the Edelbrock E-Force is rated at about 545 crankshaft horsepower, though your own gains are going to depend on the fuel octane used, altitude, and ambient conditions. Both the 5.0L Coyote V8s and the 6R80 Transmission in your truck are pretty stout, and can handle the out-of-the-box power levels of either supercharger system without much issues, though that will depend on general wear and tear and how well each are maintained.

Customer Question How hard would it be to up the boost to 8 - 9 lbs? Would it be a simple pulley change, belt and new fuel injectors and tune? Also what is the flow rate for factory 2013 F150 5.0 injectors?

Customer Answer There's a couple of different ways to increase boost pressure on this kit, however, the smaller intercooler in this system likely wouldn't be doing you any favors and would probably cause heat-soak. For getting the boost pressure you want, you'd be better off doing the Stage II ProCharger System which is 8-9psi out of the box, with more room to grow.

Customer Question Why would someone choose this kit over the Stage 2 Complete kit which is only $468 more and provides 60 more horsepower? I'm trying to choose which would be best for my stock 2014 5.0 F150. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Customer Answer It just really depends on budget and power goals. This kit also isn't terrible for towing or hauling applications where you may not want a massive amount of power to put strain on the driveline while yanking a trailer, 5th wheel, or toy hauler around. In general, the Stage II System is a better choice for most folks.

Customer Question how much psi does this unit run compared to the stage 2 unit also i would like to install the boss manifold at this same time as the procharger kit, do you sell the correct pipping to fit the boss manifold ?

Customer Answer This kit is rated at 6 to 7 psi versus the 7 to 8 psi of the Stage II system. From my understanding, the kit doesn't require any additional piping to fit the Boss Manifold (assuming that an oversized throttle body isn't being used). The coupler going from the charge tubing to the throttle body has enough play in it that it can reach the Boss 302R Manifold without permanent modifications. However, F150s with a Boss Manifold will require a custom dyno tune, and going with one of ProCharger's Tuner Kits would be a better bet.

Customer Answer I believe that the supercharger system can be ordered without a tuner at a reduced cost, however, you would need to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can put in a custom order over to ProCharger.

Customer Answer That largely depends on your country, state, county, city, or local area's emissions requirements. That being said, this kit does not interfere with the function of the catalytic converters and should be legal in most areas outside of California and New York. The kit is not currently CARB-Approved, unfortunately.

Customer Answer We actually had the ProCharger Stage II System on our red 5.0L F150. Anyway, our average went from around 13.5 to 17mpg overall using ProCharger's tuning. Our best highway mpg was around 22. Keep in mind that the truck has a 3" coilover kit and rear block, along with 33" tires and aftermarket wheels. Your own results can vary pretty substantially depending on you own modifications.

As far as installation instructions are concerned, I believe they're still being finalized before the kits are actually released. We are planning on making our own install guide and install video once our kit arrives for our own 5.0L F150.
