Install Guide: 2011-2014 F150 EcoBoost Gibson Metal Mulisha® Cat-Back on our 2011 F150 EcoBoost!

In general, it's pretty tough to find an exhaust kit for the 2011 to 2014 F150 EcoBoosts that looks outright aggressive, but doesn't make your truck unbearable to ride around in because of noise. Well, Gibson teamed up with the people over at Metal Mulisha® to come up with one of the most awesome and toughest-looking cat-back kits to grace the EcoBoost F150s. The Metal Mulisha® F150 EcoBoost cat-back features big, 4" diameter tubing and is topped off with a massive, 6" tip with a black ceramic coating with the Metal Mulisha® skull logo riveted on. The kit looks impressive and intimidating, but has a pretty tame and mild exhaust note with practically no drone at cruising or idle. This awesome kit is perfect for anyone who wants a tough look for their F150 EcoBoost without adding a raspy tone or a ton of exhaust volume to their truck. What's more, the kit is extremely easy to install, and we found out for ourselves on our own 2011 F150 EcoBoost Project Truck.

To get the ball rolling on our Metal Mulisha® cat-back kit install, we went down to our trusty friends down at Extreme Performance out in Goodyear, Arizona, for some assistance in getting this kit (and a few others) up onto our truck. Both Kris and Aaron got right to work removing the cat-back kit that was on our truck and getting the Gibson system on. If you have the stock cat-back on your truck, take a look at our Solo Mach-X Install Guide to see removal instructions. Just make sure to keep the stock resonator!

The first step of our Gibson Metal Mulisha® install was to get the Gibson's kit muffler assembly on. Aaron fit it into our truck's stock resonator pipe assembly and fit its hangar through our truck's forward mount. He then bolted the mount back to the frame.

Next, Kris fit a clamp over the muffler's outlet while Aaron maneuvered the over-axle tube over our truck's axle and into proper position.

Once the over-axle tube was wrangled into position, Kris fit it into the muffler's outlet while Aaron slipped its hangar into our upper bed rail mount. He then bolted the mount back onto the truck.

Does this require any welding? Trying to decide if I can do this in my garage or if I need to run to my buddy's place for his welder.
