Our friends over at MBRP offer up some of the most popular cat-back exhaust kits for the 2011 to 2014 F150s. Maybe a little less so on the EcoBoost trucks than a few other kits. Whatever the case, MBRP's lineup of F150 EcoBoost Cat-Back Exhaust Kits are a good choice for anyone looking for a more aggressive and deeper sound than the systems out there that preserve the stock resonator, all while providing excellent fitment and quality. This MBRP Dual Rear Exit Cat-Back Kit for the EcoBoost Trucks really changes up the look of your truck all while adding a noticeable and aggressive sound. While maybe not for everyone, the MBRP Dual Exit Cat-Back System felt right at home on our 2011 F150 EcoBoost Project Truck, and is a good choice that wants a good combination of sound, fit, and price.
Just like nearly every install here at Stage 3, we grabbed our cat-back kits of choice, threw them into our truck, and headed down to Extreme Performance out in Goodyear, Arizona, for some help getting our MBRP kit on our truck. Kris and Aaron were down there waiting for us, and got to work getting off our current exhaust system and installing the MBRP kit. If you have the factory exhaust kit on your truck, then check out our F150 EcoBoost Solo Mach-X Install Guide.
With the stock exhaust kit (or whatever kit we had on there before) off of the truck, Aaron bolted MBRP's inlet tube onto our mid-pipe using the supplied bolts.
After the inlet pipe was in place, Aaron slipped a hangar clamp over the muffler inlet and then fit the muffler onto the inlet tube.
Aaron then slipped our truck's forward mount onto the hangar clamp and bolted the mount back onto our truck.
With the muffler in place, Kris maneuvered the passenger's side over-axle tube into position and fit it into the passenger's side outlet on the muffler.
Then Aaron fit on the driver's side over-axle tube into the muffler's outlet.
With both over-axle tubes in place, Aaron fit on their clamps and fit the driver's side over-axle tube's hangar through our upper bed mount, while Kris installed MBRP's tailpipe assembly.
To get the driver's side exhaust tubing properly installed, MBRP includes a new exhaust mount that bolts to the bed rail. Kris fit the rubber mount over the hangar before bolting the tab to the truck.
While Kris was messing with the driver's side tailpipe, Aaron fit on the passenger's side tailpipe assembly and fit its hangar through our aft exhaust mount.
With the tailpipes more or less positioned, Aaron and Kris installed MBRP's exhaust tips and threw clamps around all the piping connections.
Aaron wen back and slipped our upper bed mount through the hangar on the driver's side over-axle tube and bolted it back to the bed rail.
After the kit was properly hung, Aaron and Kris went back through the whole kit and tightened down the tips, clamps, and exhaust mounts to complete our install.
