Decades of prayers were answered when Ford announced that a diesel was going to make it into the 2018 F150s, and while we here at Stage 3 were among the cynics who glowered at the thought of a truck built purely for fuel economy, we were quickly proven wrong. And what's even better is that 5-Star has just released their custom tuning for the the 2018 F150 3.0L Powerstrokes which adds a ton more torque and horsepower to an already extremely torquey motor.
5-Star grabbed a 3.0L Powerstroke F150 as soon as they hit dealers, and got it on the dyno as fast as they could.
5-Star's Performance tune added an extremely impressive 98lb-ft of torque and 50 horsepower to their test truck, which pushed their torque numbers to over 500lb-ft at the tires. That amount of torque fairly low in the powerband combined with the 2018 F150's 10-speed transmission means you get extremely impressive pulling power at just about any speeds. We can't wait to see what combinations of bolt-ons and tuning get these awesome truck's next.
