The factory rear shocks on your F150 are fraught with compromise and really can't handle much more than basic street driving. When you need something that can handle an extra inch of lift in the rear and improves your truck's performance, you can turn to the Bilstein 5100 series rear shock. This rear shock for the 2014 4WD F150s is the perfect uprated replacement for stock and comes backed by Bilstein's legendary quality and performance. The Bilstein 5100 series shock was built from the ground up for light truck applications and is the perfect choice for the F150 that does a little bit of everything. The specialized valving and high-quality piston of these shocks provide excellent off-road performance, improved towing control, and a much more planted street ride without ruining your truck's factory ride comfort.

Monotube Gas-Charged Design with Digressive Piston

The Bilstein F150 5100 series shock bolts on right in place of your truck's factory rear shocks, but features a performance-oriented design with a longer 9" of travel than stock to give your truck an extra bump in rear suspension performance, especially when used in combination with taller rear blocks. The 5100 rear shock is built around a monotube, nitrogen gas-charged design with a 46mm digressive piston. Each shock uses self-adjusting deflective disc valving that provides it with excellent response in almost any application. The body of each shock is made out of heavy-duty steel with a zinc-plated finish and a Triple-C coating for great looks and high strength.

2014 F150 Super Crew Lariat 4x4

The OE Motorcraft rear shocks on my F150 were wore out at 60k miles. My daily commute includes mostly winding and patched up backroads which equaled to harsh jolts, bounce, and shake in the rear end of my truck. Installed this set of rear Bilsteins in a matter of minutes. Ride and cornering is greatly improved. They are slightly firm, much more subtle and comfortable. (Shock mount bolts were 15mm and the nuts are 18mm)

2014 F150

I must be one of the unlucky ones I have read about in f150 forums. I replaced only the rears. Mine make a clunk sound going over slow bumps. I did notice the eyelets on the bisteins were larger than OEM so I took a video of the play questioning that to bilstein directly and they claimed they didn't see it. Again I must be one of the unlucky ones. But I know there a quite a few others with the same issues.

2014 F150 XLT

Excellent ride. Not too harsh for the road by any means. I have these on the 2.1" setting with 33.4" Falken Wildpeak tires (275/70/18). Make sure to install the rears the proper way, with the boots on the bottom. Much happier with these than my old 2" leveling puck/spacer. These accomplish the same thing while also giving you a better performing shock that's designed for a lift/leveled truck. And they look great!

Used these on the rear with Eibach struts in the front. Excellent ride quality more firm than stock but much more controlled. Very happy with these shocks. They ride excellent.

How many miles are these typically good for? I understand there are some variables... But a general answer? Thanks.

There's a ton of variability, depending on how you use your truck. If you're predominantly on the street and don't have to deal with rough roads, getting 70,000 miles or more isn't out of the question. However, if you are doing pretty hard off-roading or have to deal with pretty rough dirt roads daily, you may only get 50,000 miles. We can't really make a guarantee about shock lifespan.
