Easy to Use Interface with Built-in WiFi for Downloading Tunes and Updates

Each BDX tuner features a large, bright screen with straightforward button controls that's paired with built-in WiFi and specialized firmware that takes full advantage of Bully Dog and SCT's cloud tuning system. The BDX can connect to any WiFi network or WiFi hotspot that it then uses to download firmware updates and new tunes. The BDX can also hold up to 10 custom tunes which your custom tuner of choice can drop right into the device using your SCT and Bully Dog's Cloud Tuning System. The BDX makes needing to hook the device up to your home PC for firmware updates and new tune downloads a thing of the past, saving you time and headaches with computer capability and driver issues. The BDX has a very easy to use menu system that's simple to navigate so that you can find anything you need in a matter of seconds. The large screen of the BDX makes it an adequate monitoring tool, and it can also read and clear DTC codes and datalog engine parameters. If you don't have home WiFi, the BDX comes with a USB cable for hooking to your home PC, as well as an OBD-II cable for connecting to your vehicle.

F150 3.5 Ecoboost

Not user friendly and bully dog customer service lady was rude and condescending. She told me engineers would get back to me but it wouldn't be soon. Was able to correct for tire size and axle gear ratio, for some reason my Bluetooth now dosent work. Does not allow you to control fan operation. I would have probably been better off paying to have a custom tuning shop do the work. Overall not happy with the cost to value...oh well to late now...

2017 F150 Lariat 3.5 Eco

Videos are a bit misleading. There are no preinstalled tunes as shown in the video, you have to manually adjust each item. Other than that, it does dramatically improve the performance once you learn how to adjust the elements.

2019 F150 3.5 ecoboost 4x4

It does what it says it’ll do so it has that going for it but it’s not what I was expecting. The truck does feel like it has a little bit more power but it don’t feel that much different then the factory sport mode. It feels like the main thing that it does is change your shift timing The pros is that you can change your governed speed from 106mph up to 120mph but realistically when would you ever need that. You can turn off the start/stop feature, adjust tire sizes, truck seems a little bit more peppy and theirs a few options to change other settings on the truck. Cons is that the factory sport mode feels pretty close to what the tuner does and after installing the tune, the factory sport mode is unusable due to how harsh it is. The transmission shifts hard when you get on it or start pulling something heavy. Fuel consumption has increased which is to be expected but I figured if I kept it in eco mode and kept my foot out of it, then I would still get decent MPG on long trips but I don’t. The truck gets up and goes from 0-70 like a scalded ape but because of the change in shift points, it feels like it dumps all its power while in the 70’s like something ain’t right. Because of that, the 0-60 might be faster but 0-100 has taken a hit compared to stock I gave it 4 stars because I’m not as happy with it as I thought I would be but it does do what it’s advertised as doing and I can use it as a diagnostic tool for the future. I’m also about to put some 35’s on my truck and it’ll allow me to correct my speedometer

Does it have tunes preloaded for the 2012 f150 3.7 v6

According to Bully dog, this device supports their pre-loaded tune as well as custom tuning on a 2012 F150 with the 3.7L engine.

Will the Bullydog tuner or any other work on a 2019 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8? I heard they changed the computer on the 2019 and they are no longer compatible to have a tuner or chip installed. Is this true?

All vehicle manufacturers tend to change their vehicle's ECU/PCM strategies every model year, which then causes companies like Bully Dog to have to crack those strategies in order to write tuning, which takes time, effort, and money. Unfortunately, Bully Dog only has support up to the 2017 Tundras at this time.

I lost my handheld, but still have my tunes from 5* on my laptop. Can I just buy another SCT BDX and upload the 5* tunes onto my handheld if I buy a new one?

Unfortunately, the tunes are written for a specific device serial number to prevent piracy. You would need a new set of tunes for the new device serial number. We can likely help you out, however. Just give us a call directly at 623-434-5277.

Unfortunately, this device does not have tuning support for the 2014 Ford Flex. You'll need to us the SCT X4 Handheld Device, instead.

The BDX only supports custom tuning for the 2018 F150 2.7L EcoBoosts at this time. SCT/Bully Dog do not have canned tuning support for those trucks as of yet.

Can this be used to eliminate the speed limiter on a 2017 F150 with a 2.7 ecoboost?

The BDX can raise or turn off the speed limiter of 2017 F150 2.7L EcoBoost trucks. However, we strongly recommend not exceeding 125mph as that's the limit of the factory driveshaft.

Can this programmer be used on a 2014 Taurus SHO and a 2017 F150 with a 2.7 ecoboost?

The BDX does not have tuning support for the 2014 Taurus SHOs. Even if it did, you would not be able to use the device on both vehicles at the same time, since this device (as well as most other tuning devices) marries itself to your vehicle's computer and must be unmarried by returning that vehicle to stock before you can tune a different car. Secondly, each device only has a certain amount of unlocks, and tuning each vehicle back and forth uses up those unlocks which will then render the device useless. Your much better bet would be to purchase a device for each vehicle.

How much hp and torque could I expect to see from my 2015 f150 3.5 ecoboost when running this tuner?

Bully Dog quotes max gains of 55 horsepower and 103lb-ft of torque and peak gains of 30 horsepower and 57lb-ft of torque. However, your own gains are going to depend on your choice of fuel octane, engine running condition, running altitude, and other factors.
