2015 F150
Application>2015 F150 Install time>Less than 2 hrs Difficulty>EASY My review includes information about ICON 2.5 front and rear shock units. I was completely dissatisfied with the OEM suspension bouncing all over the road, so I installed the Fox 2.0s in the rear, thinking I'd get off easy. The Foxes were much better than stock, but(for me) only accented how BAD the front struts were. I installed a set of ICON 2.5 (basic units without reservoirs)up front and LOVED them. Next, I pulled the Foxes and installed THESE ICON 2.5 CDCV units. I like a firm ride, so I'm running them at #5, but on #S they are smooth as silk. I'm told the NON-CDCV units are equivalent to a #4, so if you like a soft ride definitely go for the CDCV. My only regret is NOT getting the CDCVs up front. They say the reservoirs are strictly for off road use, but FYI the CDCV(only available on the reservoir units) enable you to select between SOFTER or HARDER than the setting of the non-adjustable units. Conclusion: It's my feeling that the F150 requires a 2.5 unit for proper control. My 150 now handles like a German sports sedan. The ride is firm, but not noisy or punishing. No more bouncing or understeer. The truck carves turns and holds a steady line throughout. Off road, it soaks up anything you can throw at it. This is the way this $50K vehicle should have come from the factory. Worth every penny for me. If you like a firm ride, you can make due with the non-CDCV units. If you like a cushy caddy ride, you'll want the CDCVs which allow you to soften the ride. Further, the rear 2.5 units ONLY come with reservoirs, so the addition of the CDCV is only another $300, A NO-BRAINER. The fronts are available in BASIC(no res.), RES or RES+CDCV. Going from BASIC to CDCV is way more $. Also be advised as per ICON Tech, while it's mechanically possible , but it's not monetarily feasible to upgrade the BASIC units to RES or RES+CDCV. It's cheaper to buy a new set. Sorry for the Long Winded Review, TomJV

2015 F150 XLT
Oh my That was what was going through my head the whole ride home from the shop. I had Fox 2.0's before, put an add-a-leaf in and they aren't made for the rise in height so I decided to go all out and get these. Worth every penny. On pavement with the valve switched to S it feels like your floating, superior to the ride of the dodge ram with their fancy air suspension, and all the capability of a F-150. Switched them up to a 5 for some fast runs on logging trails and it was great, butt of the truck stays where it belongs and soaks up anything thrown at it. Now I need new brakes to compensate for how much faster I can push my truck. Still have some playing around to do with settings but I am in love with these and highly reccomend them.

2010 F-150
Made a huge difference in my ride, nice and smooth and the handling so much better. Also stage 3 has the best deal on these with their price match/make an offer on them.

2016 F150 supercrew
My 2016 F150 supercrew was so stiff in the rear that the back would shudder/oscillate 3-5 cycles after hitting a large bump. This made the rear hop sideways if in a turn. Installed these while installing a 3" lift (had to modify the lower mounts to not over extend the shocks). They look great and the ride is much better. Not quite trophy truck smooth but much better than stock. The back end hopping around is gone and only very large bumps feel harsh. The rear is now slightly softer (running full soft) than the front on stock struts so may do those next.

Customer Question Would these create any minor lift since they are stiffer shocks than stock ones?

Asked by: John - 8/26/2022
Customer Answer Not really. You might see a hint of lift after you first install them until they're fully broken in and the leaf pack settles back down, but they do not offer any sort of permanent lift.

Customer Question What's the biggest block I can use with these shocks

Asked by: Richard - 5/22/2019
Customer Answer This shock can handle up to a 2" net rear lift, so you'd technically be good to use up to a 3.5" rear block, though a 3" rear block is what we'd recommend due to rake issues.

Customer Question What do all the different settings on the CDCV do? What is S and H?

Asked by: Will - 11/30/2018
Customer Answer The CDCV settings control a valve inside the shock that controls the flow of oil between the shock body and reservoir, which allows you to choose your level of compression. "S" is the softest setting. "H" is the hardest or firmest setting.

Customer Question I have an autospring add-a-leaf installed, these should be able to handle that without an issue correct? I probably have gained 1 1/2 inches in rear height with it.

Asked by: G333 - 5/11/2016
Customer Answer Yep. These shocks can handle roughly 2" of rear lift, so you're good to go with an Add-a-Leaf Kit alone. If you do decide to go with a larger rear block in the future, then you will need different shocks.
