Super Easy to Install and some crazy fast shipping from S3M. The Fox 2.0s w/remote reservoirs are NOTICEABLLY better quality than the RC 6 lifted shocks my truck had on the rear. After some initially driving the shocks are NIGHT and DAY difference in how the truck feels on smooth and bumpy roads here in Texas. The truck is so much more controlled and balanced. I typically do not do a lot of off road driving, but its nice to know when I do the remote reservoirs will come in handy to aid in the abuse I throw at the truck. The only drawback is now I want the Fox 2.5s for the front lol

These shocks make a huge difference in ride quality. I installed the rears prior to the front coilovers and even then I noticed a smoother ride. I have a 6.5 McGaughys Lift and these installed in minutes.

These shock went to a 2015 F150 Platinum 4x4 with a BDS coilover 6 inch lift. The lift came with the 2.0 fox shock (with no reservoir) I wanted to do an upgrade with a reservoir and found these 985-24-055. It installs like your factory rear shock, it took me about 1 hour to install. The shocks came with the fox clamp that is shown in the picture (stage3motorsport had told me that the clamps shown on the picture did not come with the shocks) but I got 2 of them. The ride quality is actually noticeable, I find it smoother and handles better. I'm glad I found these shock and glad I decided to purchase them, the shipping was fast took 3 days. If your debating on these shocks, trust me you won't regret it.

First off, Stage3Motorsports shipping has been the fastest shipping I have ever seen in my life. My brother got these for me as a gift, and they literally arrived within 24 hours; so kudos for your A1 logistics. As for the shocks, these installed in 15 minutes from my local off-road shop, two bolts and mounting the reservoir was pretty much it. I replaced the stock Rough Country shocks that my lift came with and still running the spacers in the front, but the Fox shocks in the back alone make a world of difference in ride quality. I live in Houston, where our roads aren't the best in the world, and these shocks absorb the rough roads like a dream. Haven't taken them off-road yet, but I don't doubt they'll perform amazingly. Highly recommend, huge difference if you're running cheaper rear shocks.

Very impressed with these. I live in the desert and it is very rough roads and a lot of potholes. I don’t feel the bumps in the back end at all and the truck doesn’t want to lean as much turning now. Highly recommend.

These shocks are fantastic. I now have the Fox shocks in the rear & still the stock strut & Rough Country strut spacer in the front & it is a night & day difference in the ride quality. Honestly feels like driving a brand new truck. My RC shocks made driving on any less than perfect road almost unbearable. After a week of driving on these, I am blown away at their responsiveness & quality. If you are on the fence about these, don’t be. You will not regret them one bit.

I purchased these shocks as a gift for my brother's truck, thinking it was more of a visually appealing upgrade versus an actual performance upgrade. My brother raved about them and after having a chance to drive his truck last week, I can see what he is talking about! Definitely a much smoother ride and any bump/pothole (lets be real) seems like nothing. Some might say, GG!

Great rear shocks! Replaced the Rough Country shocks that came with my 6" lift kit with these and couldn't be more happy. With the RC shocks my airbags would slowly pump themselves up over time and rougher roads. These shocks have pretty much eliminated that. Super smooth ride from the back end of my truck now.

Shocks look extremely tough and provide a noticeable stiffness over previous pro comp shocks provided with lift kit. Notice: top of shocks have large bolt holes and will require either larger than stock bracket bolts, or highly torqued to clamp mounting bracket bending it to squeeze the shock. If torqued to stock recommendation, shock will rattle extremely bad sounding like the bed is falling off the frame.

Customer Question I have 6” BDS Lift on my 2017 F150. I currently have 5in rear block in the back but I want to add a 1.5 leaf to rear to level out my truck. Would these shocks work with a 5” block with a leaf

Asked by: JC - 12/30/2019
Customer Answer By the math, this shock should have enough stroke and length to handle a 1.5" add-a-leaf kit. However, we have not tried the combination ourselves and we can't guarantee what kind of ride quality you'd end up with.

Asked by: Uzi - 6/13/2019
Customer Answer The braided hose in this kit is fairly malleable, and as long as it isn't kinked, you should be fine. Other users of this shock may be able to chime in.

Customer Question I just received these rear fox 2.0 w/Res EXCITED I have an 14 F-150 with RC 6”lift kit with front factory shocks and spacer. Should I wait to purchase the front Coilovers to install or will it effect the ride if I go ahead and install now while I save for the fronts? Also is there any side effects if I get/use the front factory height Fox Coilovers without Resi along with the RC lift spacer? Or since I got the rear with resi, I should get the full bds 6” Coilovers w/res. Thank you! (and sorry for all the questions)

Asked by: JV - 3/29/2019
Customer Answer There's really no reason to wait. You can install the rear shocks without having a front coilover upgrade (in fact, it's incredibly common for folks to just do rear shocks), and you'll see a pretty noticeable improvement in ride quality with just the rears. You can use the standard stock replacement Fox 2.5s with the Rough Country strut spacer, you'll just need to make sure to set the coilovers to a 0" factory ride height, which is easier said than done. In general, going with the BDS full-length coilovers is generally a better use of your time and money.

Customer Question How high/low should the resivor be clamped against the shock ( FOX-985-24-055 )? I currently have it installed with the resivor further down on the shock so that the metal mesh line doesn’t have much if at all any bends in it but downside, tires cover the resivor look which is a small sacrifices for these shocks.

Asked by: HB - 3/3/2019
Customer Answer Ideally, the bottom of the reservoir will be in line with the body of the shock as pictured.

Customer Question So I just got these from you guys, and I’m curious as to how they’re best installed. Should the body of the shock be installed facing up or down? I’ve seen both ways and was just curious if it mattered at all, because personally I would want the body facing up for a more pleasing view. Thank you.

Asked by: Olympian - 2/23/2019
Customer Answer Technically, on a monotube rear shock, it doesn't really matter. However, we recommend a barrerl/body-up orientation to better protect the shock body.

Customer Question HOW DOES THE RESERVOIR MOUNT TO THE SHOCK? IS THE CLAMP THAT IS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE PROVIDED?

Asked by: IJ00 - 10/11/2018
Customer Answer The shock comes with a band clamp and rubberized insert, though Ideally, you'd mount the reservoir to the frame for a true-remote mount. The Fox Billet Reservoir Clamp pictured can be purchased separately, however.

Customer Question How much more of an improvement would these be over the fox 2.0's without the external reservoir? Just curious if its worth the extra money for someone that typically doesn't do much off roading, but more of a daily commute and occasional off road driving.

Asked by: Jonathan - 4/24/2018
Customer Answer There is a pretty significant difference in the fade department, but if you'd only notice if you're really pushing your truck really hard off-road. For only occasional off-roading that's not very intense, you'd be better off with the standard Fox 2.0s.

Customer Question thinking of going the bds 6" lift with fox coilovers but want to adjust the front down 2" ,would these still work or should i go with the 4" version?

Asked by: Jose Diaz - 2/2/2018
Customer Answer This shock won't be effected by any front ride height adjustments you make, since the net rear lift won't be effected. That being said, the BDS Fox 2.5 Coilovers can only be adjust down by about 1.5" over stock, though that should still get you a decent amount of front rake if you're concerned about staying level when loaded.

Customer Question So this is the shock I want for an 08 that has a 2.5 inch block in the back?

Asked by: Randall - 9/6/2017
Customer Answer If it's a 2.5" rear block stacked on top of your stock rear block as part of a 6" lift kit, then yes. If you solely have 2.5" rear blocks on your truck's axle, then a stock-replacement rear shock would be a better choice. Customer Question I have a mcgaughy 6.5 inch lift and I was wondering, if I install these will it raise the rear of my truck?

Asked by: Hector - 9/2/2016
Customer Answer For these shocks, the drivetrain doesn't matter. The only important thing to note with this part number is that they're for F150s with 6" lift kits only, and won't fit on trucks at stock ride height.
