2014 F150 Eco Boost
I was very impressed with the quality of this inter cooler. Very well made with great weld points and fittings. It was probably one of the easiest installs of aftermarket products that I have done to my truck. Only thing I noticed about the install was with the factory eBOV. The fittings dont give you enough room to completely twist lock it into place so I would recommend an aftermarket BOV to take its place. Other than that, I'm very impressed.

Just installed this on my 2014 f150. Install time took about 2 hours because i was doing by myself. Install was pretty easy. Product is made very well. Fitment on truck was very good. A lot bigger than the stock intercooler. I noticed a drop in my IAT's. The only bad thing i have to say about this intercooler is that the fitting for the blow off valve is very close to the intake pipe. You will need a 90 degrre adapter for the turbo smart aftermarket blow off valve to fit. Also there is no screw hole for the bracket for the blow off valve like the stock intercooler has. My turbosmart blow off valve also wouldnt screw in all the way on this intercooler, other than that, its a great product.

Install time was as advertised by Mishimoto. Power increase is noticeable. Intake temps are much cooler. With the factory intercooler my intake temps on my work commute would typically be 15-20 degrees(F) warmer than ambient temps, sometimes more in the summer. Now my intake temps are 1 degree(F) warmer than ambient. This is a decent temperature difference when doing DA calculations therefore the ECU can compensate and add much more fuel. There are a few differences with the Mishimoto vs other aftermarket designs. The most noticeable is the duct. Channeling the air greatly increases the efficiency of the intercooler. Next step is an intercooler sprayer. 91 octane 5* performance tune, s&B intake, AFE hotside intercooler pipes, MRB 3 exhaust

Quality product, only thing funky is the BOV does not have a screw hole like factory. Installed by myself, although a second set of hands will make it a lot easier when dropping in and lining up for lower support. I taped cardboard to both sides to prevent bending the cooling fins while installing, which is a must if you are doing it by yourself. IAT's were about 10 degrees cooler and cruising and almost 30 while in it. Also much more resistant to heat soak.

Nice product, came a little damaged (see picture) but works well. Installs from the top and is a very tight fit. Item is really heavy but installed with a little patience.

Customer Question Can you put the turbosmart blowoff valve on this?

Asked by: Harley - 10/5/2020
Customer Answer Since this intercooler reuses the stock eBOV in its entirety, you should be able to use one of Turbosmart's BOVs without issues. We do recommend using the new VeePort to minimize hassles.

Customer Question Will this fit a 2017 Ford Expedition with the 3.5 EB? I’ve seen other intercooler for the 11-14 F-150 interchangeable and the stock inter oilers appear identical. Just a concern because this particular intercooler has the top tabs in different places than the factory. Thanks

Asked by: Nick - 12/18/2019
Customer Answer Unfortunately, neither Mishimoto nor ourselves have confirmed fitment of this intercooler on a newer Expedition with a 3.5L EcoBoost.

Customer Question How often does it need to be drained of condensation?

Asked by: Jacob - 5/1/2019
Customer Answer That's going to vary pretty wildly depending on your ambient conditions, humidity, and how much you drive your truck over a given timeframe. My suggestion would be to drain it about two weeks after install to give yourself a baseline and then decide your interval from there.

Customer Question Has anyone used a Mishimoto intercooler with a winch mount bumper, such as the Barricade Extreme HD front bumper?

Asked by: gunman40 - 4/27/2019
Customer Answer Not with any success. Most winch mount bumpers will require a high-mount intercooler like the one offered by Full-Race. The only bumper that I'm aware of that allows for winch fitment and keeping the stock intercooler in its factory location is the Hammerhead EcoBoost Winch Mount Bumper.

Customer Question If there is no screw hole for the blow off valve for the 2013, what do you screw the blow off valve too?

Asked by: John - 6/28/2018
Customer Answer This intercooler does not have a screw for the BOV, and the stock eBOV just twists into the intercooler.

Customer Question Will this intercooler with with the turbosmart bov?

Asked by: Tom - 4/3/2017
Customer Answer Not currently. The issue is that the TurboSmart Supersonic BOV for the 2013-2014 F150s is very tall and won't clear the tubing properly. However, TurboSmart is working on a revised version of their BOV kit with a tweaked design that is supposedly going to allow fitment with aftermarket intercoolers. We don't have a firm ETA, but last I heard from TurboSmart was sometime in April or early May.

Customer Question Will the AFE charge pipe and AFE hot side pipes fit the Mishimoto intercooler?

Asked by: Tino S. - 3/28/2017
Customer Answer Yep, they will. The Mishimoto intercooler is designed to fit with the factory charge and hot-side pipes, and should fit with aftermarket stock replacements without issues.
