For this month's customer feature, we're spotlighting a practical, low-key F150 in stark contrast to the elaborate lifted builds you usually see at Stage 3. For December 2017, we asked the winner of our big giveaway for a progress report on his 2014 F150 and we love what he's done. Read on to see how Matt turned his F150 5.0L V8 build into an unassuming workhorse.

Working in computer engineering, Matt prioritizes his outdoor time and likes to get out into the mountains at every opportunity. Matt's installed a variety of practical upgrades to boost power, improve traction in mud and snow and maintain a comfortable ride for his daily drive. While there are big plans in the pipeline for an exhaust kit and lift, right now Matt's build is a modest, yet beastly performer, masking its grunt in its tasteful styling.

First up on the list was an intake upgrade. Matt went with S&B's cold air intake to ensure his truck was getting enough cool air. As tuning was another upgrade high on his list, the S&B intake kit will prove useful keeping the 5.0L V8's temperatures at a healthy level.

In preparation for his inevitable encounter with mud and snow, Matt swapped out his F150's stock tires for BF Goodrich A/T KO2s (LT265/70/R17). These all terrain monsters feature beefy sidewalls and interlocking tread patterns sure to spare Matt from trouble on and off the pavement.

It isn't all about performance when it comes to truck builds. One of the great joys of building up projects is seeing heads turn as you roll by a group of onlookers. Matt donned his F150 build with a dark, sinister look using ANZO's U-Bar Headlight and G2 LED Taillight Package.

We want to thank Matt for keeping us updated on his build and helping us get down this write-up. We're looking forward to seeing where he takes his wicked F150 build next!
