Hinged Storage Box that Makes Cargo Management Easy

Finding adequate storage in your bed for smaller items generally means getting a huge toolbox that can severely limit your tonneau cover options, but our friends over at Undercover have a unique solution with their awesome Swing Case Storage System for the 2015-2026 F150s. The Swing Case is basically a bed-mounted storage box that comes with a locking hinge assembly that allows it swing out from your F150's bed to get extremely easy access to whatever you have stored in the case. When you need to hit the road, the Swing Case simply swings back into your bed and latches onto an included rail which keeps it held in place no matter how aggressive your application gets. The Swing Case has an extremely impressive 1.5 cubic feet of interior storage that gives you plenty of room for securing the smaller essentials that you may need while out on the road or at the job site.

Durable Storage Box with Easy, No-Drill Installation

Undercover carefully designed their swing case to drop right into your 2015-2026 F150 with practically no hassles all while taking care of at least some of your cargo management needs. The Swing Case is made from an extremely durable plastic that can shake off bumps and bruises from just about whatever else is floating around in your bed, but won't rust or corrode like traditional metal tool boxes. The Swing Case bolts right in to your truck with a no-drill install and comes with the case itself, striker bracket and hinge plate. The case can easily be lifted off of its hinge if you need your gear close. The case comes with a built-in lock for its cover as well as a loop for a padlock that keeps your case safe from anyone with bad intentions. Undercover includes a full set of installation hardware and instructions that make getting the Swing Case installed and working extremely simple.

Driver's Side Only: This version of the Undercover Swing Case only fits the driver's side (left side) of your 2015-2026 F150. A version for the passenger's side is also available.

Bed Light Switch Note: the driver's side swing case blocks the switch for the factory bed lights when stowed. When open, the bed switch can be reached.

2018 F150 Lariat 6.5’ bed

These Undercover Driver’s and Passenger's Side Swing Cases fit great in my 2018 6.5’ bed. They provide me with ample room to securely store stuff I had behind and under the rear seats back in the bed. The cases fit well under my soft roll up tonneau and I can see they’ll fit under other style tonneau covers too. Install was easy - except that the OEM box link screws you need to remove are a booger to take out. Mine were in tight and took slow, patient turns of the torx bit to extract them. But, have no fear! Although the Undercover instructions say to reuse these bolts, they provided 4 new ones in the hardware kit I got. The Undercover cases hold a lot - they’re wider than I thought, which allowed me to now store a small DC air inflator as well as all of my hitch gear and my 4-way hitch, and my collection of tie-down straps. I even added my recovery strap bag with d-rings. With both cases, there’s a lot you can store in these Undercover cases. They’re easy to access too. Pull a lever and swing them towards the tailgate for easy access. The tops lock for added security and - I wasn’t aware of this feature - they come with a keyed-alike lock that goes in the hinges yo prevent someone from lifting them off and stealing the cases. Pretty cool. I like my Undercover Driver’s and Passenger's Side Swing Cases. I’m glad I bought both.

Will these fit on a 150 with the 5.5 box?

These will work with all F150 bed configurations including the short bed 5.5ft box. Depending on your year, if your truck is equipped with the factory stowable bed ramps, they must be removed to install swingcase.

When both driver and passenger side boxes are installed in a 2023 F150 how much space is between the boxes when they are stowed?

We have not taken a measurement of this distance ourselves to provide an exact measurement, but they will line up pretty flush with the tire wells.

Is this waterproof?

It's water-resistant. The Swing Case has seal for the lid and the lid overhangs a bit to help keep rain and weather out. But if you found a big enough bucket of water and put the Swing Case in it, water would ingress.

Will this work with a spray-in Rhino liner (can be 1/8"-1/4" thick)?

Will a 5 gallon military-style jerry can fit in the swing case?

That's going to depend on the specs of the can, but it's not likely. The Swing Case is only around 18" tall on the exterior (meaning you only have about 17" of interior room), and most 5-gallon NATO cans are around 18.5" tall at their handles.

I've noticed you remove the cleat and install your bracket. My question does it come with new bolts or do we reuse the ones from the OEM cleat?

For installing the striker onto the BoxLink Cleat, you reuse the stock bolts.

I have a 2015 F150. On the video it looks like the Boxlink cleat is able to remain attached to the bracket when you install the bracket where the plate used to be. Is that the case or do you have to have something different to accomplish that?

The latch plate installs using the bottom two mounting holes for the BoxLink cleat, so you're actually able to reuse the OEM cleats, though you really won't be able to use basically any other of Ford's BoxLink hardware.

I have a 2015 f150, and I'm wondering if this will block the switch for the led box lights on the driver side?

When the Swing Case is closed and locked, it does block the bed light switch to some degree. You could probably still reach it if you were in the bed, but you'd have to finagle your hand in there. With the Swing Case unlocked and swung out, reaching the switch isn't a problem.

Will this toolbox work with a drop-in plastic bedliner?

It likely can, depending on the bedliner. As long as the bedliner you have doesn't use the mounting holes required by the Swing Case, then you should be fine. However, you may need to drill and/or even cut you bedliner in order to mount up the Swing Case. You can use our install video of the Swing Case as a reference to see what modifications you may need to make in your own bedliner.

Does this cover up the new LED bed light in the 2015's once it's installed?

The bracketry for the Swing Case does not block the lights, however, the case does when it's locked in to the side of the bed. If you do need lighting, all you'd to do is swing the case out toward the tailgate.
