The Banks MONSTER® Cat-Back Exhaust Kits are some of our most popular exhaust kits for the 2011 to 2014 F150 EcoBoosts. They come backed by the legendary Banks name, fit well, and have a pretty clean and mellow sound. A lot of people have been itching for both an exhaust video and install guide of the Banks cat-back kit, and we finally found some spare time to throw the kit onto our 2011 F150 EcoBoost Project Truck. The Banks MONSTER® kit is a good choice for someone looking for something a little different for their truck without a dramatic increase in exhaust volume, cabin drone, or much of anything at all. The Banks kit is also one of the easier systems to install than some of the other kits we've put on the truck, so it all worked out very nicely.
Naturally, we went down to Extreme Performance in Goodyear, Arizona, for the install of our Banks MONSTER® cat-back exhaust kit. Kris was waiting to help us out, and quickly go out truck up on the lift and ready to go. If you haven't seen how to get your stock cat-back system off your truck, check out the first half of our Solo Mach-X Install. The only thing you have to remember is to keep the factory resonator on your truck. We actually had to reinstall the stock resonator back onto our truck, due to the fact that we took it off for our previous cat-back system. So, Kris scrounged up some new bolts, washers, and nuts and threw our stock resonator assembly back onto our mid-pipe.
After our factory resonator was in place, Kris installed the Banks intermediate pipe and then attached the muffler assembly onto it.
Kris then grabbed the hangar clamp and threw it on the connection between the muffler and intermediate pipe while sliding it through our truck's forward exhaust mount.
Next, Kris fit a clamp over the muffler's outlet and then fit on the over-axle tube while sliding through the upper bed rail exhaust mount.
With the over-axle tube in place, Kris grabbed the exit pipe assembly and a clamp and fit it over the over-axle tubing while also sliding its hangar through our truck's rear exhaust mount.
Once Kris fit on the exit pipe nice and snug, he went back through the system and tightened up all the clamps throughout the entire kit.
With everything tightened up, Kris fit on the Banks exhaust tip and clamped it down, completing our install.
