2014 F150 Coilover fitment on 2015 F150s

There's been a flurry of fitment confirmations, rumors, and whatever the hell else flying around as of late regarding the fitment of coilovers built for the 2014 F150s and whether or not they fit the new 2015 F150s. We had been getting conflicting information on the situation for a while now, but we got our ducks all in row, made phone calls to the right people, and got official word back from several different sources on what works and what doesn't. So, will a coilover kit for a 2014 F150 fit a 2015 F150? Yes and no. That's the short answer, at least. The long answer is that fitments vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and it also depends on the specific design of the coilovers themselves. The boring, technical, and more specific parts are below.

So far, our 2015 F150 coilover fitments vary by manufacturer and even by specific coilovers. Our friends over at F150Lifts have confirmed that their BOSS 0-3" coilovers for the 2014 F150s also fit the 2015 F150s, and they've confirmed similar coilover kits will bolt up just fine to the new 2015 trucks.

Our friends over at ICON, however, have a bit of a longer story. They've confirmed that their standard 2.5 coilovers without reservoirs will physically bolt up to the 2015 F150s. Coilovers for the 2014 F150s with reservoirs will not fit the 2015 F150s due to the fact that their hose routing is not compatible with some of the changes Ford made in the suspension and body of the truck.

Coilover Fitment for 2015 F150s

Now, while ICON's standard 2.5 Coilovers will in fact successfully bolt on to the 2015 F150s, this comes with a few massive caveats. Since the 2015 F150s are several hundred pounds lighter than the departing 215 F150s, the valving in the 2014 Coilovers just isn't quite tuned to the lighter weight of the 2015 F150s, meaning that you'll likely get subpar drivability and travel...at least to ICON's impeccable standards. The good news of the situation is that ICON is working on a new lineup of coilovers specific to the 2015 F150s, which should be released here in the next 60 days or so. These new coilovers will be tuned and valved to the 2015's lighter weight, making everybody happy. Still, if you're just itching for a set of coilovers for your 2015 F150, then ICON's standard 2.5s will get the job done, however, we here at Stage 3 strongly recommend waiting for the proper 2015 kits to hit shelves.

Fox Suspension wasn't able to give us a definitive answer as of yet, but they do have several test trucks running around, so we'll see where they fall into the spectrum of fitment here shortly.
