An aftermarket intercooler is key if you want to maximize the power output of any turbocharged engine, and your 2015-2023 Mustang's 2.3L EcoBoost I4 is no different. A performance intercooler improves airflow efficiency going into your Pony's engine while lowering charge air temperatures to provide a nice boost in horsepower and torque over the factory intercooler. An upgraded intercooler can even handle increased boost pressures brought on by aggressive custom tuning or turbo swap applications. Holy crap, the stock intercooler is small
The weakest link and the thing that seriously holds your 2015-2023 Mustang EcoBoost back from making more power and torque is the factory intercooler. The stock intercooler is small, has plastic end tanks, and just can't handle the increased boost pressure and heat generation supplied by even the most basic of OTS or "canned" performance tuning, much less an out-and-out aggressive custom tune.
