2016 Ford F150 s-crew King Ranch 2wd
Arrived quickly (less than three days) and fit perfectly. My King Ranch is now a pickup truck and no longer a child's bouncy house. Stage 3 had a good prices, shipped fast, and was very good with the communication - sending several e-mails to update on shipping progress. If you have a Ford F150, change out the shocks - even if the truck is brand-new. The dealer told me that bouncing rear ends is normal and said that even if they replaced the shocks with OEM ones, it would be the same way. The only solution is to upgrade.

Replaced factory rear shocks with these. Haven't had a chance yet to take it onto some of the forest roads we drive but on the local freeways there is a very noticeable difference. A couple stretches of the local freeway are notoriously bumpy especially going over the bridges. The rear end stayed firmly planted. Will be on forest roads this coming weekend and that will be the test. The one road is full of washboards. If the ride is like I think it will be it won't be too long before I swap out the front shocks for 5100s. Installation time took 30-40 minutes max for both.

These shocks are a great upgrade from stock. Install was easy and only took about 30 minutes. It cleaned up the rear wheel hop and seems to have much less body roll in corners.

Better than the lazy rebound of the stock shocks! Rebound and compression of the Bilstein shock was faster/harder than stock shock. Installed rear shocks only. Made a difference in the stability of the rear end while trans versing over washboard bumps.

With only about 5000 miles on my truck, I replaced the stock shocks with these. The annoying bounce I had while towing our TT is now gone. And the ride is better while not towing also.

Upgraded rear shocks at 100k miles. Didn't expect to notice a difference, but did. The truck handles potholes and road transitions (from bridge to road) with noticably less wheel hop! Overall smoother ride, so if these things bother you or you're just looking to upgrade, definately would recommend these! Installed in my garage with BASIC tools! Local auto parts store rents out torque wrenches... took less that 30 min for both sides!

2015 F150 SCREW 2WD
I went back and forth on the Bilstein 5100s for a while before purchasing them. I have owned my truck for just over a year before then. The rear end hopping and bouncing over dips, bumps was uncomfortable but a little unsafe at times. These trucks are severely light in the rear when empty and the factory shocks had about 86k miles on them, which I read were bad to begin with. I swapped in the 5100s when they came in, pretty fast too by FedEx ground, and it was a huge difference. I will say that when you cut the strap that comes on them, be prepared because these shocks are a mutha. I fought a bit getting my lower mounting bolts back in and trust me, you will want to scream, at least I did haha. But got them in, test drove them and it was literally a night and day difference. Hit a dip, trucks rear end goes down and right back up, when before it would bounce before settling. Making quick turns or driving at an angle into my driveway that has a dip, is more planted. I would highly recommend these of you own a F150. I'm very happy with this purchase and should've done it way sooner.

This is a must for any F-150 owner! The install was a super easy garage install that took about 45min for the pair. The ride was very controlled and sporty over the factory soft shocks. These also made an improvement when towing our boat over ruff highways.

Excellent upgrade to Bilstein & I'm very happy for it ( money wisely spent). These Shocks should have been installed right from the factory. It took me and my son (12 yrs) about 5-7 min on each side and we were done removing OEM ones and installing the new Bilstein shocks. Installation is very easy (no jack or wheel removal is required) and the shocks are easily compressed by hand unlike some youtube vids where people tends to exaggerate the amount of force required to push them in (It is an Easy DIY) The ride is excellent, got rid of that strange instability in the rear of the truck when turning over potholes and uneven roads.. the truck is well planted now also noticed no body roll/pitching/yawing like a boat. Seriously thinking of upgrading the front to Bilstein too if they are of the same ride quality The factory shocks are almost new (8K miles- rarely driven - Farm usage only)

Customer Question I've got a 19 STX RWD. Currently using a 2" spacer level up front, and an "adjusted" RAS system in the back to bring it up about 2" due to trailer tongue causing heavy sag. There is no spacer block in the rear, just the Roadmaster Active Suspension being torqued to lift it up. Should I use the RWD shocks in this instance?

Customer Answer If your truck is lifted 2" higher than the factory height the 5100 for the 4wd model would be the better choice.

Customer Question Hi, I have a 2017 4wd f150 with the ford performance 1.5 in rear lowering kit. I’m seeing that the rwd bilsteins are a better fit for the lowered 4wd trucks. Is this correct? Thanks Dave.

Customer Answer The RWD Bilsteins are generally used with a block delete, but they should be able to handle a Ford Performance 1.5" rear drop kit.

Customer Answer You could probably get away with using this shock. However, you're better bet would be to use the 4WD 5100, since it'll be in a more optimal travel range.

Customer Question Are these shocks for a 2019 f150 stx with 3 inch block lifts in rear?

Customer Answer This shock cannot handle the lift provided by a 3" rear block on an RWD F150. If you're running a 3" rear block, you would need a shock for a 4WD F150 capable of handling 1.5" of lift. Something like the Eibach Pro-Truck Shock or something similar.

Customer Question Hey guys I love these shocks got them from you on my last truck this truck I’m going to get them as well I have a 2” drop shackle in the rear to have more of a level look will these still perform good? There tech says they will be great just wanted tour opinion as well

Customer Answer If you have a 4WD truck with a 2" drop shackle and still have the stock rear block, this shock should work just fine. If you have an RWD truck with a 2" shackle or a 4WD F150 with a 2" drop shackle and a rear block delete, you'll probably need a different option due to the stroke of this shock. Customer Answer These shocks will definitely help you out. However, if you are towing/hauling fairly often, you may want to consider adding a 1.5" rear block kit or an add-a-leaf kit to your truck. If you do go that direction, then we'd recommend using the 4WD version of this shock.

Customer Question I have a 2015 RWD with the Autospring 1.5inch add a leaf installed. I also have a fiberglass shell which causes a slightly lower ride heaight. Should I use the RWD bilsteins or the 4WD versions. Thanks!

Customer Answer I'd argue the 4WD shocks, since you'd still be in a more optimal travel range than with the RWD shocks, even with the sag from a camper shell.

Customer Answer Only if you remove the stock rear block from the 4WD truck. These shocks are not long enough to be used with the factory 4WD rear block in place.

Customer Answer They would work, however, the 4WD versions of this shock would actually be in a more optimal range of travel and would be a much better choice for your current setup.

Customer Answer They will not. This shock will only fit F150s at stock ride height or with very slight rear lifts of up to 1.5". If you want a shock for a 4" lift kit, take a look at BDS's FOx 2.0 Rear Shock for 4" Lifts.

Customer Question I recently put a 2" Rough Country leveling kit on my 2016 F150 and now the rear of the truck is about 1/2" lower than the front. Do these shocks affect the rear ride height at all? If not, what would you recommend?

Customer Answer Rear shocks do not have any effect on ride height, though most aftermarket shocks can handle higher rear ride heights more effectively than the factory shocks. A 2" leveling kit should not result in rear rake. In general, it takes a 2.5" leveling kit to get these trucks at a "dead-level" stance. Still, if you think your truck does have some rear rake, you would need either a larger rear block or an Add-a-Leaf kit to increase rear ride height.
