Improves Rear Suspension Performance for Many Applications

The factory rear shocks on your F150 are fraught with compromise and really can't handle much more than basic street driving. When you need something that can handle an extra inch of lift in the rear and improves your truck's performance, you can turn to the Bilstein 5100 series rear shock. This rear shock for the 2015 to 2020 F150s is the perfect uprated replacement for stock and comes backed by Bilstein's legendary quality and performance. The Bilstein 5100 series shock was built from the ground up for light truck applications and is the perfect choice for the RWD F150 that does a little bit of everything. The specialized valving and high-quality piston of these shocks provide excellent off-road performance, improved towing control, and a much more planted street ride without ruining your truck's factory ride comfort.

Monotube Gas-Charged Design with Digressive Piston

The Bilstein F150 5100 series shock bolts on right in place of your truck's factory rear shocks, but features a performance-oriented design with a longer 9" of travel than stock to give your truck an extra bump in rear suspension performance, especially when used in combination with taller rear blocks. The 5100 rear shock is built around a monotube, nitrogen gas-charged design with a 46mm digressive piston. Each shock uses self-adjusting deflective disc valving that provides it with excellent response in almost any application. The body of each shock is made out of heavy-duty steel with a zinc-plated finish and a Triple-C coating for great looks and high strength.

2016 Ford F150 s-crew King Ranch 2wd

Arrived quickly (less than three days) and fit perfectly. My King Ranch is now a pickup truck and no longer a child's bouncy house. Stage 3 had a good prices, shipped fast, and was very good with the communication - sending several e-mails to update on shipping progress. If you have a Ford F150, change out the shocks - even if the truck is brand-new. The dealer told me that bouncing rear ends is normal and said that even if they replaced the shocks with OEM ones, it would be the same way. The only solution is to upgrade.

2016 F150 SCAB

Replaced factory rear shocks with these. Haven't had a chance yet to take it onto some of the forest roads we drive but on the local freeways there is a very noticeable difference. A couple stretches of the local freeway are notoriously bumpy especially going over the bridges. The rear end stayed firmly planted. Will be on forest roads this coming weekend and that will be the test. The one road is full of washboards. If the ride is like I think it will be it won't be too long before I swap out the front shocks for 5100s. Installation time took 30-40 minutes max for both.

2017 F150 XLT

These shocks are a great upgrade from stock. Install was easy and only took about 30 minutes. It cleaned up the rear wheel hop and seems to have much less body roll in corners.

2018 f150 reg cab

Better than the lazy rebound of the stock shocks! Rebound and compression of the Bilstein shock was faster/harder than stock shock. Installed rear shocks only. Made a difference in the stability of the rear end while trans versing over washboard bumps.

2018 F150 s-crew 3.5L ecoboost

With only about 5000 miles on my truck, I replaced the stock shocks with these. The annoying bounce I had while towing our TT is now gone. And the ride is better while not towing also.

2015 F150 SCREW 2WD

I went back and forth on the Bilstein 5100s for a while before purchasing them. I have owned my truck for just over a year before then. The rear end hopping and bouncing over dips, bumps was uncomfortable but a little unsafe at times. These trucks are severely light in the rear when empty and the factory shocks had about 86k miles on them, which I read were bad to begin with. I swapped in the 5100s when they came in, pretty fast too by FedEx ground, and it was a huge difference. I will say that when you cut the strap that comes on them, be prepared because these shocks are a mutha. I fought a bit getting my lower mounting bolts back in and trust me, you will want to scream, at least I did haha. But got them in, test drove them and it was literally a night and day difference. Hit a dip, trucks rear end goes down and right back up, when before it would bounce before settling. Making quick turns or driving at an angle into my driveway that has a dip, is more planted. I would highly recommend these of you own a F150. I'm very happy with this purchase and should've done it way sooner.

This is a must for any F-150 owner! The install was a super easy garage install that took about 45min for the pair. The ride was very controlled and sporty over the factory soft shocks. These also made an improvement when towing our boat over ruff highways.

2015 Ford F-150

Upgraded rear shocks at 100k miles. Didn't expect to notice a difference, but did. The truck handles potholes and road transitions (from bridge to road) with noticably less wheel hop! Overall smoother ride, so if these things bother you or you're just looking to upgrade, definately would recommend these! Installed in my garage with BASIC tools! Local auto parts store rents out torque wrenches... took less that 30 min for both sides!

2018 F-150 Lariat S.cap/long bed/ 3.5EB/ 4WD

Excellent upgrade to Bilstein & I'm very happy for it ( money wisely spent). These Shocks should have been installed right from the factory. It took me and my son (12 yrs) about 5-7 min on each side and we were done removing OEM ones and installing the new Bilstein shocks. Installation is very easy (no jack or wheel removal is required) and the shocks are easily compressed by hand unlike some youtube vids where people tends to exaggerate the amount of force required to push them in (It is an Easy DIY) The ride is excellent, got rid of that strange instability in the rear of the truck when turning over potholes and uneven roads.. the truck is well planted now also noticed no body roll/pitching/yawing like a boat. Seriously thinking of upgrading the front to Bilstein too if they are of the same ride quality The factory shocks are almost new (8K miles- rarely driven - Farm usage only)

I've got a 19 STX RWD. Currently using a 2" spacer level up front, and an "adjusted" RAS system in the back to bring it up about 2" due to trailer tongue causing heavy sag. There is no spacer block in the rear, just the Roadmaster Active Suspension being torqued to lift it up. Should I use the RWD shocks in this instance?

If your truck is lifted 2" higher than the factory height the 5100 for the 4wd model would be the better choice.

Hi, I have a 2017 4wd f150 with the ford performance 1.5 in rear lowering kit. I’m seeing that the rwd bilsteins are a better fit for the lowered 4wd trucks. Is this correct? Thanks Dave.

If I had a factory set of rear blocks would these shocks still work or would it be too much lift for these shocks to work adequately?
