Stage3motorsports is a great website so what u say is just on sct's tuner. Overall it is a waste of money. The tuner really doesn't do that much besides putting my truck into limb home mode all the time. When i first opened the box the problems started with not being able to update the device. Sct's customer service isn't great but isn't bad. Not sure if i just need a custom tune for my truck because the preprogrammed sct's tune suck. Once again im only talking about sct's product. If you are wanting to get something for your truck stage3motorsports is the way togo!

Very easy install with good instructions and awesome increase in final performance after custom tuning. The pre-programmed tunes did not work with the other upgrades to my truck (i.e. Ford Motorcraft iridium spark plugs, AFE silver bullet throttle body spacer, AFE dual cold air intake, UPR Mega catch can w/ clean side separator, Wagner EVO intercooler, Full Race 3 catted downpipe and 3 custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers). Experienced immediate OBDII trouble codes after installing; DTC P02099 (low boost condition) and P0306 (hard misfire on number 6 cylinder) . I Returned to Stock following the instructions and had a custom tune performed by a local SCT dealer, and the codes went away and haven't came back. Depending on other upgrades you have made, you may need to consider custom tuning by SCT dealer near you.

Customer Question I’ve got a 2002 f150 4.6 5in lift on 35x12.5, cold air intake. Getting 9mpg with out a tune. Will this make a significant change in my mpg and acceleration?

Asked by: 2002 F150 4.6 - 2/7/2018
Customer Answer The Livewire would likely help out some, but you likely won't see a huge bump in your fuel economy. You'd probably get an absolute maximum of 2mpgs or so and only if you drive fairly conservatively.

Customer Question When you return your vehicle back to stock, does this tuner leave a footprint behind that can show that the vehicle at one time was tuned?

Asked by: David - 12/15/2017
Customer Answer Even if you return the vehicle to stock, your dealer may still be able to discover the vehicle was tuned. We can't give you a 100% guarantee.

Customer Question will the sctx4 with a custom tune, interchange with the sct livewire, with all the gauges?

Asked by: louis - 9/8/2017
Customer Answer They will not. Custom tunes are generally written for specific devices and usually can't be swapped between two different devices, even if they're from the same brand. Your best bet would be to contact your custom tuner and see about getting your tunes adjusted for a new device.

Customer Question I have to pass an emissions test in Massachsetts for annual inspection. Will this tuner throw a code letting the tech know ive tuned the truck? Or before I go in can I set the truck back to stock so they wouldn't see that i had tuned the truck?

Asked by: Bill - 9/14/2016
Customer Answer In general, a tune alone will not cause failure of an emissions test, unless the tune disables any sensors required by emissions equipment. That being said, this device can return your vehicle to stock prior to taking it in for emissions testing or service.

Customer Question ?how do i reset for a different vehicle =*

Asked by: Ed rothwell - 6/9/2016
Customer Answer The Livewire can only tune one vehicle at a time. To tune a different vehicle, you'll need to return your current vehicle to stock so that the device becomes "unmarried" before you can tune a separate vehicle.

Customer Question Do you have to power this tuner off or just turn the car off? When you're not driving the car

Asked by: Anthony - 3/3/2016
Customer Answer The device only pulls power from your vehicle when your key is set to "on" or when the engine is actually running. It shouldn't pull power when your vehicle is off.

Customer Question I have a completely stock 2009 f150 with the 5.4. Would this be a good investment for power? I'm looking to do exhaust, intake, throttle body, and a few others eventually. What would you suggest for more power?

Asked by: Justin - 8/22/2015
Customer Answer It really depends on what those "few others" are going to be and what you're doing with your truck. If it's primarily a street truck and the parts you listed are going to be the only major power-adders, then this tuner with SCT's canned tunes will do you just fine. If you're going to be towing, off-roading, or adding something like headers or an aftermarket Y-pipe down the road, then the Livewire with 5-Star's custom tunes would be the better investment as their tunes tend to function better with more specific truck applications, and you'll be able to get free retuning down the road if you do add headers and/or an aftermarket mid-pipe.

Customer Question What's the difference between the livewire TS and the TS+?

Asked by: Josh - 7/2/2015
Customer Answer Well, the standard TS has been phased out and superseded by SCT, but the main difference is that the TS+ has WiFi capability and an improved touchscreen over the outgoing TS.

Customer Question Can this be connected to stock 2011 F250, 6.7 without making any changes?

Asked by: Wayne - 5/29/2015
Customer Answer If you mean only using it as a monitoring device, then yes, that is possible. However, if you're only looking for monitoring capability, then there are less expensive options out there like the Edge Insight series.

Customer Question I BOUGHT MY TS LIVEWIRE 5015 USED HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS UP TO DATE ?

Asked by: DOUG - 2/3/2015
Customer Answer The best way would be to download SCT's Device Updater Software from their website and the application will update your device automatically. What's more important is that you check and make sure that the device is in "unmarried" status by checking the "Device Info" screen, otherwise, you won't able to load a tune onto your vehicle.

Customer Question I have a 2013 raptor with 6.2 and added a Wippel Supercharger with kooks long tube headers with dual ex all the way back. Which tuner would i need?

Asked by: walter payne - 1/20/2015
Customer Answer You're going to need a custom tune, and this tuner alone won't be adequate for the things you've done to your truck. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 1-877-578-2433 so we can go over your tuning options and get more information about your truck.
