Was expecting a lot more from this tuner. I researched a lot of different tuners and read reviews and this was what I thought would work best for me. Once I got the tuner I updated it and installed the pre-installed tune. Directions are not that great they could make it easier. The predownloaded tune made little to no difference to my truck. The gauge set they described and showed on their videos to me is exaggerated to what you actually get. From what I I've found out to get the tunes from mpt is expensive. About 150 for three tunes. So if you plan on buying this and seeing huge results with the first Gen ecoboost do not hold your breath. To me this is not worth the price I paid for it. I have not downloaded any MPT tunes yet. Wish they would include one MPT tune.

The tuner came right away, it worked with no issues, car run great, would buy this tuner again. Great service from stage3motorsports.
Does this unit work with 11-16 6.7 Powerstroke, Will the 3 tunes will be tow, performance, fuel economy ? How many unlocks does this unit have ? Does this unit allow for eventual deletes and custom tunes?
Asked by: Corey - 12/29/2021
I believe the tunes included with the base device are a Performance, Street, and Tow tune. The BDX has 5 unlocks as standard, but can't tune multiple vehicles at the same time. SCT no longer supports EGR, DPF, or DEF deletes. This device can accept custom tuning from certified SCT custom tuners.
That somewhat depends on the year and motor of your truck, but in general, the SCT BDX can either increase or remove the speed limiters on your truck. However, your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about your truck.
I have 2018 F-150 5.0L, how many preloaded tunes does the stock BDX come with? How do the 5STAR tunes compare to the ones that come from SCT? And lastly, when you purchase the one with the 5STAR custom tunes, do you still get the SCT preloaded tunes or only the 5STAR ones?

From my understanding, the BDX comes with three tunes, all are octane-based performance tunes. If you purchase a BDX with 5-Star tunes, you will get SCT's "canned" pre-loaded tunes as well. In general, 5-Star's custom tunes get you better shifting and gear-holding than SCT's tunes. Power levels are more-or-less the same, though 5-Star's tunes tend to be better-tailored for their specific applications.
That somewhat depends on what vehicle you're planning to use this device on. There's no reason why you couldn't, though you'd likely be better off with a dedicated towing tune that holds gears longer.
does this tuner have any pre loaded tunes that support e85?
Asked by: z.onefiddy - 8/22/2020
It depends on the specific vehicle and model year, but for the most part, it does not. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected].
Should I add cold air and exhaust before installing tune? What are tune only gains expected?
Asked by: JerryA - 6/2/2020
Any specific gains are going to depend on your vehicle's model year and motor. If you're just using SCT's preloaded tunes, and you're not planning on doing any custom tuning down the road, then your order of operations doesn't really matter. I will say that SCT's quoted power gains tend to be a bit "optimistic", so take their stated gains with a grain of salt. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your truck and possibly get you a package deal with hard parts and tuning.
I know this turner comes with loaded tunes but if i decided that I wanted a tune from 5star or MPT. Will I be able to get a tune from either?
Asked by: Larry C - 5/20/2020
Yep. 5-Star and MPT both tune for SCT devices, and you can add custom tunes from either later. You would just need to give either 5-Star or MPT your device's serial number when you're ready to order your email tunes.
What tunes are included and what gains should I expect to see out a a 3.5 F150?
Asked by: Cory - 1/14/2018
That's entirely dependent on your truck's model year and whether your F150 is a 3.5L EcoBoost or a 3.5L Naturally Aspirated V6. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your truck.
Does this tuner allow you to recalibrate speedometer for larger tires?

Only on certain vehicles and certain vehicle model years. Your best bet would be to call us directly as 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your vehicle.
