The 2019 Ford Ranger’s suspension looks pretty lame right off the lot if we're being completely honest. As soon as you want to raise your suspension to drive off-road, or to just look like a badass, you’ll want to upgrade these components. If you already plan on raising the front of your Ranger with some aftermarket coilovers, then it is crucial to fit on some rear suspension upgrades as well. You don’t want the back of your truck to sag like a Mastiff watchdog's face, because the truck is not going to get the same loving reaction from your peers that the dog would get. Don’t be that guy. With the addition of a rear shock, rear block, or an add-a-leaf kit, you can easily correct this problem and have an evenly leveled truck. However, which option or combination is best for you?
Rear Shocks: Rear shocks are one of the best options you can get for your Ranger’s rear suspension. Shocks give you an improved off-road performance and some can even handle monstrous 4.5” of lift. However, some shocks like the Bilstein 5100 or Eibach shocks can only handle 1" of lift, so it's important to know what you are looking for. On the highway or even off-road, you’ll find that your drive is smooth and effective. Compared to stock shocks, you will not experience bouncing or jouncing over small bumps and encounter less rear-end roll. Aftermarket shocks are capable of coming in larger packages than your stock shocks so it can stretch to impressive lengths. Because of size, your shocks will function more efficiently by dissipating heat faster than stock. Because they’re some of the most popular options on the market, you will have no shortage of options. Because of its usefulness, a pair of shocks is the best bang-for-your-buck on the market. For our build, we used the coveted BDS NX2 Nitro Shocks, which impressed us right out of the gate. The pressurized nitrogen charged twin-tubed shock dampens quickly on whatever terrain the Ranger encounters. If you want a similar experience, browse our vast catalogue of rear shocks.
Rear Blocks: If you are looking for great use and something more economical, then a rear block is just what you need to accommodate your Ranger's front lift. If you often use your Ranger for towing, then a rear block is perfect for giving your truck more rake. You don’t want your bed to sag and affect your handling when driving down the freeway, so this is a must. Best of all, rear blocks do not affect your OEM ride quality and offer a ride just as comfortable as off the lot. Rear blocks come with U-Bolts which help keep the same quality that your factory components gave you. The blocks install easily and do not require you to undergo a difficult removal of your Ranger's add-a-leaf kit. Another reason why you might prefer a rear block is because of its affordable price compared to shocks. Our Rear Blocks can be yours for less than most shocks. You will not be disappointed with how its tough anodized billet aluminum construction holds up against treacherous terrain.
Add-a-Leaf Kits: The Add-a-leaf kit is another great option for anyone that desires more lift on their Ranger and tows heavy objects. You won’t be hard pressed to find Add-a-leaf kits that can give you 1.5 to 2” of lift in your Ranger’s rear. With this extra lift, you can finally fit on a proper off-road tire for a tough look and a great ride. Best of all, you will get better carrying capacity with add-a-leaf kits! Aftermarket leaf kits drops in your stock leaf pack and impressively adds extra carrying capacity for a Ranger that frequently has a heavy load in the bed or in tow. However, a leaf kit does not increase the Ranger's gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass. US-sourced 5160 tempered spring steel helps the add-a-leaf take any abuse you might encounter on off-road excursions. You can find all options in our Add-a-leaf kit section.
Suspension upgrades are one of the best gifts you can give to your 2019 Ford Ranger. You'll have a much smoother ride and a better look with this hot addition.
