In-Depth Review: 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Lighting!

The 2019-2020 Ford Ranger can be made into a pretty decent off-road machine with the right upgrades. You can cruise over rocky terrain easily and with a reassuring comfort that your truck can make it through. However, when blowing through off-road trails and doing donuts in large clearings, it can be easy to lose track of time. As soon as the sun descends past the horizon, you may be in trouble if you do not have the proper lighting equipment. The last thing anyone wants to do is drive blindly in the wilderness and accidentally damage the front bumper because a large, unseen boulder was in the way. Your fun does not have to end after dark. If you constantly find yourself on dirt trails, off-road light mounts offer exactly what you need to drive safely. While there are many options you can choose to provide this illumination, we've installed two kits from lighting giant Baja Designs on our 2019 Ranger SEMA Overland Build and are pleased with the results. The 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Squadron SAE-Compliant Off-Road Amber LED Fog Light Kit and the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Squadron Sport A-Pillar Kit both provide ample lighting to cut into the thickest of nights. The addition of fog lights and an A-Pillar Light did wonders for our Ranger, and it can do the same for you.

2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Fog Lights

Darkness is not the only obstacle that you may encounter out in the wild. Bad weather can quickly creep in and defy your dazed weatherman's forecast in a heartbeat. That's why it is so important to be prepared for anything so you can still see if conditions get rough. We recommend the 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Squadron SAE-Compliant Off-Road Amber LED Fog Light Kit to replace your factory fog lights. The low-profile and long-lasting kit includes mounting hardware so you can secure your Baja Designs Squadron Lights to your existing fog light buckets. Two vehicle-specific mounting brackets and a wiring adapter let you use the factory switch for your convenience. To find out more about how easy Baja Designs made this installation, check out our video below! Once you're all set up, the light kit can begin to shine with way more light output than your stock fog lights! Four Cree XP-G2 LEDs fill the minimalist, hard anodized housings and emit light with wide cornering and spot lenses for a nice and wide beam pattern. This balanced light pattern illuminates a bit down the trail as well as your immediate field of view. The LED's 5000k temperature light shines through an amber lens and changes to a 3200k temperature for less driver fatigue. The amber also does a fantastic job of cutting through the elements for visibility during dusty conditions, a must in Stage 3's home state of Arizona. If your state is more rainy than ours, then the MoistureBlock and ClearView technology will keep your lights functional and the innards dry during moist conditions. While some off-road lights can mess up your street legal build, these ones from Baja will not. These lights are fully SAE-compliant and street legal so you can roll around town without worrying about getting pulled over.

While it's nice to have something street legal that can also help off-road, if you really want to make an impact out of city limits, a strictly off-road light will serve you well. A light that looks really clean and compact but produces extreme light sounds too good to be true, but the following Baja Designs Kit does exactly this. The 2019-2020 Ford Ranger Baja Designs Squadron Sport A-Pillar Kit are a nice addition to the fog pocket kit. It uses a small size so it doesn't draw attention away from the rest of your Ranger. Two powerful Baja Designs Squadron Sport lights will fit into the space between your windshield and hood in a simple, drop-in package. A-Pillar mounting brackets and a harness tie both lights into one of the Ranger's factory plugs and make installation easy. The brackets are located perfectly so the light is far enough above the hood to limit glare coming back into the windshield. The Squadron Sport's white spot beam lets you see deep down the trail so you can avoid oncoming obstacles. 3,150 raw lumens per light shines through four LEDs and a 5000K Daylight, natural color provides less driver fatigue. With a steel and aluminum construction, the lights will thrive due to its tough construction, despite its small size.
