When you want to sell your vehicle or if you're trying to diagnose something really specific, you may need to get your performance tune out of your ECU or PCM and return it to stock. SCT's new X4 Handheld Tuner makes the process so much easier and faster than the outgoing SCT X-Cal 3s and SF3 series, and comes with five total unlocks, giving you plenty of room to use your X4 with your current vehicle and any other vehicle you may own down the road. Returning to stock is pretty easy, and here's how:

We were out experimenting with our very own X4 tuner on our 2012 F150 3.7L RWD Project Truck. We had already loaded a tune in the truck as part of a previous guide, so now it was time to return it to stock. Our first step was to connect the tuner's OBD-II cable to our truck and to the tuning device. We turned the key to "On" and the X4 fired up to the home screen.
We then selected "Program Vehicle" which was the first option and already highlighted.
Once on the "Program Vehicle" menu, we hit the "left" button arrow on the X4 and selected "Return to Stock."
The next screen prompted us to turn our key to the "On" position. Since it was already there, we hit continue.
The X4 then started to do its thing, first by unlocking the processor, then setting up the processor, and then by actually writing our stock tune back into the truck.
Once the X4 got done writing the stock tune, the process was totally complete and our truck was returned to stock.

It will not allow me to return to stock, it gives me an error code. This is the first time I ever used this. It was 100% complete then my truck would not start.
