Stage 3's 2015 Mustang EcoBoost "EcoStang" Project Car Has Arrived!

...and we've already started bastardizing it. Our 2015 EcoBoost Mustang arrived here at Stage 3 yesterday afternoon, and spent the latter part of the day getting some new wheels and tires thrown onto it. We grabbed ourselves a base model EcoBoost Mustang with nice and bright Competition Orange Paint. No performance package, no frills. Just a car that we can rip everything out of, before throwing aftermarket hardware back into it. Being a base model Mustang, it naturally came with fairly sad 17" wheels and Hankook tires with enough sidewall for your average soccer-going minivan. Needless to say, those didn't stay on long, and a few minutes after our preliminary photo shoot, the car and new set of wheels and tires went out for mounting, balancing, and installation.

The wheels we settled on were a pair of Ultimate Performance UP100 19x8.5" Matte Black wheels for the front and a pair of Ultimate Performance UP100 19x9.5" Matte Black Wheels for the rear. The wheels are wrapped up with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport-T Comp-2 tires with 245/45R19s for the front and 275/40R19s for the rear. The new wheel and tire combination was a massive improvement for the looks of this car, and we're going all the way crazy with the black on orange styling theme, as well as a ton of performance parts and suspension upgrades, which are all forthcoming.

Does it drive a bit funny with 19" Tires on 18" rims? I was thinking of doing the same...

That was actually just a typo. We used 19" wheels all around in conjunction with tires for 19" wheels. You can only use a tire for your wheel's exact diameter.
