Add Travel and Improve Spring Clearance and Caster in a Low-Cost Package
Getting some extra front suspension travel, coil spring clearance, and durability over the factory stamped upper control arms of your F150 doesn't have to break your bank and Rancho is here to prove it with their Tubular Ball Joint Upper Control arms for the 2004-2020 F150s. Rancho's UCAs feature a strong construction and offer a slight improvement in down travel over the stock UCAs so that you can keep your front tires on the ground in off-camber applications more effectively. Each arm is built around a durable MOOG ball joint that's stronger than stock and offers better long-term reliability than comparable uniball upper control arms. Rancho's Tubular Upper Control Arms drop right into place of the factory UCAs without the need for any permanent modifications and will work at leveled heights without issues.
Strong Tubular Steel Construction with MOOG Ball Joint and Rubberized Mounting Bushings
The Rancho Upper Control Arms are built to be tougher than stock and to give your truck excellent on-road ride with more off-road durability. Each arm features a body made out tubular steel that's far stronger than the factory stamped UCAs. The arms are topped off with a black powder coat finish that gives them a great look and keeps them protected from corrosion in practically any climate or application. The Rancho UCAs are built around a replaceable MOOG K80014 ball joint that offers near-OEM reliability and ride quality in a package that's slightly stronger than the factory ball joint. Rancho's upper control arms feature OEM-style rubber mounting bushings that keep them quiet during articulation. Rancho's F150 upper control arms bolt on right into place of the stock UCAs without the need for any cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications.
Fitment:
2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 F150

Man ‘neez dang thangs is good quality man. They make the ride smooth man. The cost of ‘em just like, just like dust in the wind man. It’s like a butterfly flappin it’s wings and 5000 miles away an F-150 gets a new set of upper control arms man. Not even hard to install man. - Baumhower probably

Perfect fitment. Hardest part of install is removing Stock UCA bolts. Don’t try to shortcut by attempting to remove bolts while the Coilover is still in place. Big mistake, bolts ended up stuck in the spring. Live and learn. I’ll try and do a long term review at some point.

Great product for the price. Really smoothed out my front setup. Fox 2.0. 295-70-18 on 18x9 +18 have about 1" of clearance to the ball joint. Install was 45min per side with the foxes. Just remove sway bar nut and shock bolts. Slide the shock outward just past the mounting holes and the UCA bolts will come right out.

2016 regular cab
Installed boss halo coilovers at factory setting (+2.5") with stock upper arms knowing I would need to swap them out at some point. Should have done it all together and saved time. Night and day handling difference with camber back to 0 and more articulation. Caster is out of spec, I think it's 5.3° after alignment, but idk that really matters much.

2011 Ford F150 FX4
I ordered these control arms along with fox 2 inch leveling coilovers. They state that they are to be used with a 2-3 inch lift and will clear 11.5 inch wide tires on factory wheels, this is not true. I run cooper discoverer s/t maxx 275/65r20 which measure out to 34.17" x 11.1". There is less than an 1/8" clearance when the wheel is straight and before full lock to the right and left the sidewall of the tires rub on the rancho logo on the control arm. Also one of the ball joints did not take grease at all no matter what I did so I had to take the control off and replace it with a new control arm that stage3motorsports sent me.

Installed on my truck few months after installing the 2.75" Rancho Coilovers. After riding around with the OEM control arms all that time a huge difference it made putting these on. Handles and feels so much better now. No rolling in the front when turning. Much heavier than stock. Very happy with purchase.

Will these work on a 2013 F150 2WD with bilstein 5100s set to the hightest lift setting on the clip?
Asked by:
Reid
- 12/12/2024
These work on both 2wd and 4wd F150 with minimum of 2" of front lift so they will work no problem with 5100's set to max height on a 2wd truck.

Will these RANCHO UCA works with 2014 F150 4WD FOX 2.0 STAGE 1.? Does the tire/ Rim size affect the UCA
Asked by:
Ricaurte Recuero
- 6/26/2024
These work on any leveling system that is 2" or taller so they will work no problem with the Fox 2.0 coilovers. Tire width and wheel offset can affect the uca rubbing on the tire sidewall. We would recommend if you are trying to run a 12.5" wide tire, that you run a wheel with a 5" or less backspace to avoid rubbing.

I checked with Rancho and they said they cannot guarantee proper fit/operation with a leveling kit set @ 2" on a 2013 FX4 with stock wheels on 275/60r20 tires, because their website states minimum 2.25" level required. Description here says for use with a 2-3" leveling kit. Can you confirm proper fit and operation on the above truck with a 2" level as stated in your product description?
Asked by:
Adam W
- 3/20/2024
Theses uca were developed specifically for Rancho's 2.7" level struts so that is the perfect height for proper angles, but they can be used from 2-3" of lift. That .25 of lift height difference they told you about is not going to make much of a difference.

Will these work with a 1.75" level and stock 20" rims with 275/55/20 tires?
Asked by:
Luke
- 3/2/2024
According to Rancho, the minimum amount of height they recommend running with their uca is 2" above stock. We have never run them any less than that height, and can't guarantee the ball joint clocking would be too much for a 1.75" height. These were developed side by side with the Ranch Quicklifts which add 2.7" of height, so all the development on them was at that almost 3" of height.

How much do these lift by them selfs?? I had a 2.5 leveling kit on prior of install. I didn’t measure wheel wells prior of installing arms. But after putting arms on I could tell my truck was squatting in the rear an sitting in the truck I could tell it was sitting up more. Went to car wash an realized the truck don’t fit no more in the car wash which before with just the 2.5 spacer leveling kit it fit. Which this don’t bother me or worried about that just trying to figure out the exact lift on the truck so I can decide which tire size I want on the truck. I’m guessing it’s around 3 now from the 2.5 but not sure. An I didn’t add the provided spacers that came with the arms either. Any info be much appreciated thanks
Asked by:
David
- 10/9/2023
These control arms do not give any added lift. If when they were installed the truck was on a lift or jack stands with the suspension hanging and the control arms where torqued while the suspension was in this position that will prevent the truck from settling. It would be suggested that the control arms are loosened and torqued with the full weight of the vehicle on the suspension.

Some companies say that there UCA fit from 2004 - 2023. These stop at 2020. Will they fit a 2023 F-150 4WD Lariat?
Asked by:
Kirk
- 6/20/2023
No, the front end suspension has slightly changed in the 2021+ F150 trucks and require a slighly different uca. This part number will only work on 2004-2020 F150.

I have a leveling kit on my vehicle with a proper alignment done after install. Will I have to get another alignment after swapping these out with the stock UCA’s?
Asked by:
David
- 4/29/2023
Yes you would minimally want to have the alignment checked as the uca will change the front end angles and will most likely lead to having to adjust the caster/camber after install.

2014 F150 w/Rancho Quick Lift Struts, with 305/55/20 on OE Platinum wheels. Currently tires have about 1/4in clearance from upper arm. Since Ranchos arms are offset slightly would i gain clearance, with the Rancho setup?
Asked by:
Vic F
- 11/17/2022
We can't guarantee it. Rancho states that their arms have the same tire clearances as stock, but we have not guaranteed it ourselves.

Will these Rancho UPC’s work with 17x9, 0 mm wheels, 305/70R17 tires, and 2.25" bilstein leveling struts? Thanks in advance
Asked by:
Daniel R
- 6/26/2022
Rancho does not provide specific backspacing and tire size recommendations. On a 17x9" wheel with a 0mm offset, you should be at 5" of backspace and clearing a 305 wide tire should not cause issues on most upper control arm options.

Can’t find any information on how to change the ball joints in these control arms, do you guys have a video or maybe some tech spec on how to change the ball joints on these? Thanks for the help
Asked by:

You would need to remove the retaining circlip and then press the the balljoint and press the new one in. We generally recommend a professional install.

I have a 2.75inch level kit on a 2015 f150 with stock wheels 35x11.50 tires. After reading previous comments I am concerned the control arm won’t have clearance. Is this product compatible?
Asked by:
Tom
- 3/31/2022
Unfortunately, Rancho does not provide backspacing recommendations. Most UCAs require a maximum backspace of 5.50" to 5" to clear a 12.50" wide tire. The stock F150 wheels have a 6.50" backspace, so an 11.50" wide tire should be fine, but you may want to go with a different set of UCAs if you're concerned.

In the picture of these control arms it shows two flat pieces… I’m assuming those are a strut spacer of some sort? The description on any site I’ve found these arms on don’t say anything about them. What are they for?
Asked by:
F150 4x4
- 3/19/2022
They're optional strut spacers for use on trucks that don't have some sort of leveling system. They help with geometry, since these UCAs are really only meant for leveled applications. If you already have a leveling kit or aftermarket coilovers, they do not need to be reused.

The description says these will run without issue at sick height (no leveling) but then there's a separate note that says these only fit raised/leveled from ends. Will these work without issue at sick height? What about at just 1" or 1.5" of lost in the front? Thanks.
Asked by:
Joseph Custer
- 1/15/2022
These UCAs are designed for trucks at 2-3" of leveling. You may be fine at 1.5" of ride height, but your better bet would be a different UCA option.

Asked by:

These UCAs will work with the spindles and the wheel/tire combo, though with a lift kit with a stacked spacer, we can't guarantee how well the UCAs will actually function.

I have a 2015 with the Rancho 4.5 inch lift kit. Will these UCA's work with that kit? Or is the lift too much.
Asked by:
Ryan
- 12/2/2020
According to Rancho, these UCAs will not technically work with the Rancho 4.5" lift kit, since the lift keeps the factory geometry, while the UCAs are meant for leveled trucks that have their UCA angles thrown off.

I have an 06 F150 with a 6" lift. I need new ilupper control arms. What is the best option you have to offer.
Asked by:
Mike
- 10/17/2020
There really isn't a "best". A lot depends on what you're doing with your truck and what your budget is. If you're going to be off-roading fairly hard or regular, we tend to recommend either the
ICON Delta Joint
or the
Grimm OffRoad Uniball UCAs
. If you're not off-roading or only hitting decent forest roads, then the Ranchos would be a fine choice or the
BDS Ball Joint UCAs
.

I have a 2010 f150 with 2 inch level running raptor take off wheels, 17”x8.5” Matte Black Bead-Lock Wheel 315/70r17 tires. Will these cause any clearance issues.
Asked by:
Mike
- 9/10/2020
Rancho does not have specific backspacing requirements. However, we recommend a maximum of 5.50" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire. With Raptor wheels at a 6.50" backspace, you would likely not clear a 315 wide tire.

I have a 2013 ecoboost with the bilstein level kit and 35 -12.50r17. I need a set of upper control arms to get the alignment right. I have heard about back spacing and was wondering if there was an upper that would work for this situation?
Asked by:
Robert
- 9/5/2020
That depends entirely on what wheels you're using, specifically their widths, backspacing, and offsets. Rancho does not offer any specific backspacing recommendations, but we recommend sticking with 5.50" to 5" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

I recently noticed my truck has some negative camber going on. Would these help correct that? If so how would they compare to the SPC UCA’s?
Asked by:
Garrett Hawkins
- 7/16/2020
They likely will not. From my understanding, these UCAs only correct caster. The SPC UCAs are more capable of adjusting camber, though typically, a good alignment shop should be able to get your F150 back to OEM specs. Rancho's UCAs are a bit more durable than the SPC arms thanks to their uniball, but the SPCs will have better long-term reliability.

Asked by:
Speedmonkey7

According to Rancho, these UCAs don't have backspacing requirements. However, I'm personally a bit dubious of that. You can likely use the stock wheels with up to a 285 wide tire without issues.

Are these UCAs longer then stock. Like if my stock UCAs are almost touching my springs because of my 3 inch coilovers. Wil this give me more clearance so I'm not touching my springs or hitting them on bug bumps?
Asked by:
Geoff
- 6/13/2020
The actual arms of these UCAs are routed differently than the stock UCAs, which gives you slightly more spring clearance to help avoid contact when you're leveled. Though at 3" of ride height, you still may occasionally see a bit of contact depending on how hard you push your truck.

Asked by:

That somewhat depends on what tire you're running, though Rancho has not yet provided specific backspacing requirements. As long as you're using a maximum of a 295/11.50" wide tire on the stock wheels, you should clear these UCAs just fine.
