I have had these on the truck for a few weeks now,. I paired them with Fox 2.0 leveling coilovers set at 2 , and I couldn't be happier. I took it off-road this past weekend, and it performed very well on the rough trails, giving me the extra travel I was looking for to prevent the suspension from bottoming out, or the UCA from hitting the coilover at full droop. I am running 285/65R20 (33.5x11.2) Nitto Ridge Grapplers with +20 Fuel Couplers and no issue with fitment or rubbing. Install instructions recommend pre-greasing the bushings before installing, and with them being polyurethane, you should use a silicone based grease vs. an oil based. I found the grease at Napa Auto Parts for about $7.

For the price, the customer should not have to deal with the noises associated with these UCAs. Icons engineering team either needs to recommend a different silicone grease or go with rubber bushings instead of hard polymer. The noise I guarantee everyone will have (even at the correct torque specs) is the bushing to the frame. You are going to have to grease the gap between these sections within 3000 miles. The longest I have gone without terrible speaking is 4000 miles. I am not scared of maintaining parts, but this is excessive because of the manufacturer's poor choice in materials or recommendations for grease. WHEN THEY DO WORK these are great UCAs. The travel is great and the delta joint is an amazing concept. I just wish they would have paid more attention to the longevity of the assembly instead of skimping on cheap bushings and limiting customers to silicone grease because of their choice of material. (oil-based greases will eat away the plastic)

Easy install. High quality product. Used with the installation of Elka 2.0 struts. No interference issues with struts set near the upper range of lift. Only one minor complaint, for the price the set should include the joint dust covers. I recommend you remember to buy those when ordering these.

These are an interesting concept and was happy at first, but they are not durable, the seals do not last. I greased these every oil change, and after any major mudding session/truck wash. I got approx 43k miles, where as my Moog joints are still going strong, for the high price I'm not happy with that. The tiny rubber seal seems to be the weak link in the DJ. Warranty was easy to deal with, but I think the BDS UCA's that use a moog ball joint with a proper dust boot are a better product with longer service life imo.

These control arms are great. I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit on the stock struts. The added spring clearance was exactly what I was looking for and the delta joint definitely has more articulation than a regular ball joint. It's a very high quality product and worth the money.

Shipping was super fast and the install was fairly easy. Took me about 2-3 hours with lunch break included. So far they make the ride feel a little smoother and make bumps feel less existent. I have a 7 inch readylift kit with fox 2.5 resi coilovers and these are the finishing touch to my front suspension. Looking forward to testing these out off road soon. Overall very pleased.

Ive been dealing with an embarrassing squeak that has only gotten worse since the day I put them on. maybe I used the wrong kind of grease? I'd take some of the blame if it meant I would get a solution for this issue! They seem to operate ok, but my truck sees alot of dirt and its definetly not a pavement queen. If I drove slow past a graveyard on a bumpy road, the dead would sit up and take notice. Probably scream at me to keep it down! Im seriously considering putting my factory upper control arms back on at this point. I have been putting up with it and catching grief from everyone i drive by on the dirt locations i work on, hoping that they "break-in". Its been 3,000 miles and its only getting louder and worse. My Fabtech's on my 2017 F150 have never made a sound. They just perform and do it quietly.

This arms are well built but the pivot bushings are noisy even after taking them apart 3 times to grease them. I am a mechanic so I’m not a first timer doing anything on cars. Too much maintenance greasing the bushings and ball joints every 2-3 weeks! I recommend the SPC control arms instead of this!

Great at first, but I am tired of having to constantly grease these things. There is absolutely no reason for these to have poly bushings. The squeaking has gotten to the point where it is driving me insane. Every little bump or turn of the wheel results in a loud squeak or creaking noise. I ordered new control arms from BDS, who uses rubber bushings instead of poly. I am anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Install isn’t bad, I was doing these at the same time as I was installing some Bilstein 5100’s (I know, I know, I’m planning on upgrading those at some point), so that was no problem. These work perfectly with leveled struts on my truck, at full suspension droop, I still have some more ball joint angle left in it and the control arm clears the strut perfectly. Alignment shop didn’t have a hard time, these maintain a slightly higher than factory spec of Caster/Camber but excellent overall. I installed the included grease zerts because this is just my daily, I’m not at any level of competition with this truck, so I’m not looking for ultra low resistance ball joints, grease is good for me. MAKE SURE YOU GREASE/OIL THE DELTA JOINT AND BUSHINGS BEFORE YOU DRIVE ON THEM!! They looked dry out of the box and I would hate to see someone wipe them out because of that. Also put some grease on the edges of the bushings when installing them, or rub some on the frame where the bushings touch it. The build quality is awesome, no complaints here. Icon doesn’t make junk, definitely worth the premium compared to some alternatives on this site.

These control arms are junk! They make your truck sound like a giant squeak toy! No matter how many times you grease the bushings the squeaking won't go away. I've taken the control arms off my truck twice to repack the bushings with new grease and even replaced the bushings as well. They might perform well during wheel articulation but during normal driving they won't shut up or stop squeaking. These controls arms are definitely not worth the cost and especially not worth the extra maintenance and troubleshooting. I'll be looking for a replacement control arm soon. Save yourself the cash and buy a control arm that doesn't make noise when installed or has a rubber bushing.

They lasted about 5 min on my truck. As soon as I set the truck on the ground and heard the squeaking I lifted it back up and took them off. What a crap design in the urethane or poly bushings. The problem is the bushing touching the chassis and squeaking. It's a shame because the rest of the UCA is awesome. I really wanted to like these. Now it's a $700 paperweight.

Customer Question Will these work with a 6” lift on 35” tires?

Asked by: Dean - 10/5/2025
Customer Answer Yes, as long as your wheels have the correct 5" backspacing or less to avoid any rubbing on the tire sidewall if you are trying to clear a traditional 35x12.50" tire.

Customer Question I have a 2017 F-150 Lariat 4x4 that I am putting 295/70r18 tires on with this UCA setup. Should I have enough clearance with no rubbing or trimming needed.

Asked by: StoutMan - 8/15/2025
Customer Answer Wheel offset is going to be needed to be able to answer this question, but in general most 295 wide tires can fit no problem as long as the tire tread does not physically measure more than 11.5" wide. If you reach out to our sales team with what wheel you plan to run as well as the tire, and they can double check the setup.

Customer Question I am currently running OEM 20” rims with 275/55R20 tires on my 2020 F150 Lariat and will be replacing the front suspension with Bilstein 6112s set at 1.5”. 1. Can I add the Icon Tubular UCA with delta joint and not worry about rubbing/contact? 2. Can I increase the tire from a 275 up to a 295 and still be safe? 3. Lastly, if I added a spacer to push the tires even with the flares would that cause the tires to make contact or rub? Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Asked by: Aaron - 4/1/2024
Customer Answer With a stock wheel and no wheel spacers, you are limited to a 11.5" wide tire max with the Icon uca. I would look at the tire manufacturer you decide to go with if upsizing and make sure the tread width is not wider than 11.5", otherwise you could have tire sidewall rub on the uca. 1.5" wheel spacers would definitely help you get clearance between the tire sidewall and the uca so you would have no concerns at that point with uca clearance when using wheel spacers.

Customer Question I have a 07 f150 2wd with a 2.5in level and 315/70r17s. Will these fit or will they rub?

Asked by: Stone - 8/31/2022
Customer Answer That depends entirely on what wheels your using, specifically their widths, backspacings, and offsets. These UCAs require a wheel with a 5" backspace in order to clear a 12.50" wide tire. Since a 315/70R17 is essentially 12.50" wide, you'll need a wheel with a maximum of a 5" backspace to clear. Asked by: Robert - 7/11/2021
Customer Answer You do not technically need to upgrade your UCAs for a lift kit alone. In theory, a true crossmember lift kit with taller spindles should get your truck close to the factory suspension geometry, and the stock UCAs should be fine. That being said, if you are planning to take your truck off-road and push it pretty hard, then a set of aftermarket UCAs is probably a good idea.

Asked by: 2012 F-150 lariat - 6/11/2021
Customer Answer The UCAs will clear your wheel and tire combination just fine. However, you may run into issues with your lift combination. Rough Country's 6" lift kits are usually just "tall" 4" lifts that use 4" dropped crossmembers and knuckles, so taking them up another two inches will likely result in suspension geometry issues that these UCAs won't be able to solve. If you are dead-set on taking your Rough Country lift higher, we only recommend another 1" at a maximum, preferably with a coilover and not a spacer.

Customer Question I have a two inch leveling puck on my 2018 F150 FX4. I just had Les Schwab's install a Ready Lift UCA and to my disappointment, the Ready Lift UCA still hits the coil spring at full droop (it's better than the stock UCA as it allows 3/8 inch more droop, but it still hits the spring). Will the Icon Delta Joint UCA's clear the coil spring at full droop? Also, is it the strut/shock on an F150 that stops the suspension from continuing to fall at full droop?

Asked by: Justin Reynolds - 6/2/2021
Customer Answer The ICON UCAs should clear your coil springs at only 2" of leveling. You may want to check you alignment, though, and see if you don't have a camber issue. The coilover assembly is the main factor when it comes to generating travel, but you're also limited by the UCAs, sway bar, tie rods, and CVs.

Customer Answer According to Black Rhino, the 18x9" Kelso with a +12mm offset has a 5.47" backspace, and according to ICON's backspacing specs, the UCAs won't clear this wheel with a 12.50" wide tire. You may want to look into the F150 BDS UCAs that only require 5.50" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

Customer Question I currently have a 6" bds lift with fox coilovers. I'm wanting to increase the lift to 7-8" Will the control arms work good with my setup?

Customer Answer These UCAs will work fine with a BDS 6" lift kit. However, you may still have issues taking one of those kits up to 8", regardless of UCA. That being said, that somewhat depends on your truck's model year. Your best bet would be to call us directly at 623-434-5277 or email us at [email protected] so we can get more specific about your truck and what you're doing.

Customer Question I have 2019 Raptor take offs (315/70R17) on my 2019 f150, and I already have the bilstein b8 6112 and 5160 setup with the full 2in of lift in the front. Will I have enough backspace to clear if I upgrade to this UCA? Thanks in advance!

Asked by: Mark M - 3/4/2021
Customer Answer Unfortunately, OEM Raptor wheels with a 6.5" backspace will not clear these UCAs with a 315 wide tire. Your would need at least a 1.00" wheel spacer, though we recommend using a 1.50" wheel spacer to avoid stud trimming.

Customer Question I have a 2018 f150 fx4 with leveling spacers on top of the stock struts. Will I be able to remove the two bolts holding the upper control arm on without removing the strut?

Asked by: Justin - 2/5/2021
Customer Answer That somewhat depends on the spacer kit, but in general, the UCA mounting bolts can be reached without removing the coilover, though having a wrench with a swiveling head will make your life a lot easier.

Customer Question For 2020 xlt 4x4 6.5’ Would these be a ok combination with the Eibach 2.0 coilover set at 2.5”? Do you think it would rub with cooper xlt 285/75r18 or 295/70r18 On factory 18 xlt wheels?

Asked by: T - 11/28/2020
Customer Answer These UCAs will work fine fine with an Eibach 2.0 Kit set at 2.5". You will also clear the UCAs with up to a 295 wide tire on the factory 18" wheels, so you won't have issues with the UCAs with either of your tire options.

Asked by: Scott - 9/15/2020
Customer Answer I do not. You should be able to clear a set of 295 wide KO2s without issues on that particular wheel, since KO2s' overall width tends to be pretty close to their section width.

Customer Question Hello, will backspacing work with factory wheels and a 285/65/20? Also, do the icon covers come with this set, or do I need to purchase separately?

Asked by: Brad - 8/10/2020
Customer Answer You'll be able to clear a 285 wide tire on the stock wheels. In theory, you can clear up to a 295 wide tire as long as it's overall width isn't drastically different (1" or more) greater than the section width. These UCAs do not come with ICON caps. Since the Delta Joints are fully sealed, they don't have a practical function and can get in the way if you need to add grease to the Delta Join itself. However, if you just like the look, you can find ICON's UCA Cover Caps here.

Asked by: Richard Meyer - 7/16/2020
Customer Answer These UCAs will not clear your wheel and tire combination. A 315/70R17 is essentially 12.50" wide (technically 12.4"), and the UCAs require a maximum backspace of 5" to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

Asked by: Adrian - 6/17/2020
Customer Answer According to ICON's backspacing requirements, you will not be able to clear a 305 wide tire on an 18x9" wheel with a 5.75" backspace. That being said, ICON's recommendations are a bit conservative in our experience, but we have not tried the combination ourselves, so we can't 100% guarantee clearance.

Customer Question I have a 2012 F-150 with a 2.25 inch leveling kit with the stock rims that have a 40mm backspacing. The tires are 33x12.50x20R that are about a half inch from rubbing the stock UCA's. If I put 1.5 inch wheel spacers on, will these rub? Also would these control arms help with a leveling kit making the ride quality better?

Asked by: Carter - 3/16/2020
Customer Answer With a 1.50" wheel spacer, your wheel and tire combination will clear the ICON UCAs. Just keep in mind that pushing your wheel out may result in some rub on your valance, but minor amounts of trimming should fix the issue. These UCAs will likely not give you a significant improvement in ride quality (unless your stock UCAs are literally falling apart). The only potential ride quality improvement they may provide is avoiding contact with your stock spring. The only way to get a major improvement in ride quality is with a shock/strut/coilover upgrade.

Asked by: Carter - 3/5/2020
Customer Answer These UCAs will not clear a 12.50" wide tire on the factory wheels. You would need at least a 1.00" wheel spacer to clear, though we generally recommend using a 1.50" wheel spacer so that you don't have to do any stud trimming.

Customer Question So.. I have a 5100 leveling kit on my 18 4x4 xlt. Recently bought eibach springs, and 2.5in halo blocks that I’ve yet to install. The questions are should I get a UCA, and second, would it rub against my planned wheel tire combo? Fuel Rebel 18x9 +20, NITTO Ridge Grapplers 285/70/18 34x11.5?

Asked by: Thomas - 1/31/2020
Customer Answer Whether you should will really depend on what you're planning to do with the truck. Since the Bilstein 5100s only level up to 2.1", you would not necessarily require UCAs if your truck is primarily street-driven. If you are off-roading on the regular, then UCAs are a good idea, almost regardless of ride height. You should not have issues clearing that wheel/tire combination, if you do go with the UCAs.

Customer Question Would aftermarket control arms help with my tire rubbing the wheel well or no? My 08 F-150 is leveled and I still have rubbing with a decent sized tire.

Asked by: Christian - 12/9/2019
Customer Answer They will not. Aftermarket control arms do not provide additional tire clearance or prevent rub. The only way to gain more clearance is with more lift, different offsets, trimming, or adding an aftermarket bumper.

Customer Question 2015 F150 FX4 I have a 7" lift with adj. coilovers set at 2" additional, 20x9 wheels with -12 offset (4.5 backspace), and 37x13.5 tires. Currently using stock UCA but want to switch. Will this fit? Will it fit if the wheels had a 2" spacer, as well?

Asked by: Dylan - 10/28/2019
Customer Answer That depends entirely on what coilovers you're using. If you're using stock-replacement coilovers and a strut spacer, these UCAs will not work, since the strut spacer pushes the coilover's upper mount into a position where it interferes with the UCA's travel. If you're using a full-length coilover on its own, then you should be fine.

Customer Question How do these compare to the stock arms are they longer are they set up to lay the spindle back to slow the steering how do they compare?

Asked by: Jopha - 10/10/2019
Customer Answer The arms aren't really longer, though they are larger dimensionally. The tubular sections are shaped slightly differently than stock to help clear the spring. They do not change caster angle and your steering should not be effected by the arms.

Asked by: John - 9/9/2019
Customer Answer You will not be able to clear a 12.50" wide tire at 5.75" of backspace. ICON recommends a wheel with 5" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire, though their recommendation is a tad conservative. The maximum tire you could use with your current wheels and these UCAs would be a 305 wide tire. Your only other recourse would be to add a set of wheel spacers.

Customer Question What kind of life span does this Delta joint have? And will it out last the BDS with Moog ball joints?

Asked by: War Damn Eagle - 8/9/2019
Customer Answer According to ICON, the Delta Joints have a rough 100,000 mile wear-out rating. MOOG doesn't list a particular mileage for their ball joints, but the issue with standard ball joints is that your mileage is going to vary pretty heavily based on how you're using the truck and your climate. The Delta Joints are built from the ground up to be used pretty hard, so you'll definitely get more lifespan out of them than a standard ball joint if you're flogging your truck on the regular or live somewhere that's hard on suspension components.

Customer Question I have a 2014 SCREW 4X4 with 8 inches of lift that I have 20x12 -44 offset wheels that I am running 37-12.50s will this arm clear this set up? what if i choose to go to the 13.50? Currently the ball joint mount is higher than the tire so would clearance even be an issue?

Asked by: David - 5/15/2019
Customer Answer The real issue is fitment of this UCA is going to depend on how you've obtained 8" of lift. If you're using a 6" strut spacer/aftermarket coilover combination, then this UCA will likely not fit at all, due to the strut spacer pushing down the upper mount of the coilover to a position where it interferes with both install and UCA travel. If you have some sort of custom coilover setup with a full-length coilover, then you'd likely be fine. Your best bet would be to give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your lift.

Asked by: Jon - 4/18/2019
Customer Answer You will have clearance issues with a 305 wide tire on the factory Raptor wheels, due to their backspacing. The maximum tire width you can use on the stock Raptor wheels and clear these UCAs on a standard F150 is a 295 wide (11.6" wide) tire. You'll need wheel spacers in order to clear a 305 or wider tire.

Asked by: Trent H. - 3/1/2019
Customer Answer That depends on how wide your 35" tries are. If you're using a 35x12.50" tire, then by ICON's math, you'll have issues, since you need 5" of backspace in order to clear a 12.50" wide tire. If you're using something like a 305/70R18 that's 35-ish inches but only 12" wide, you'll be fine. Give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your tire size.

Thanks Rick

Asked by: Rick - 2/21/2019
Customer Answer We can't guarantee that the ICONs will work any better. The issues is, because the spacer moves the coilover mount down, it can interfere with arm travel either at the Delta Joints housing or out on the arm itself.

Asked by: nirad - 12/25/2018
Customer Answer Those tires are too wide to clear the UCAs on a 9" wide wheel with a +20mm offset. The most offset you could use would be a +12mm in order to clear that tire. Otherwise, you'd have to go with a 295 wide (11.6" wide) tire.

Customer Answer You will not be able to run a 12.50" wide tire on the factory wheels with these UCAs. The widest tire you could run would be a 295 (11.6") wide tire. You would need to use wheel spacers to clear a 12.50" wide tire.

Asked by: SULL - 12/13/2018
Customer Answer You should clear a 12.50" wide tire just fine on the stock wheels with 1.5" wheel spacers, since you're effectively reducing your backspace from 6.50" to 5", which is right at ICON's recommended backspace to clear 12.50" wide tires (which is a little conservative, anyway).

Asked by: Josh - 9/19/2018
Customer Answer They will not. The stock wheels have too much backspace for a 12.50" wide tire to clear ICON's UCAs. You would need to add a wheel spacer or go with a narrower tire if you want to keep the factory wheels. Depending on your ride height, you will likely have rubbing issues if you add a spacer to your current wheel and tire setup.

Customer Question What grease should be used for the polyurethane bushing?

Asked by: Kasey - 9/18/2018
Customer Answer ICON doesn't really have a recommended grease. As long as you're using some sort of polyurethane-safe grease (i.e. silicone, graphite, lithium, or PTFE based), you should be fine. Just avoid petroleum-based greases, as those aren't great for the bushing lifespans.

Customer Question Will these clear on a 2014 f150 FX4 crewcab, with a F150 4WD FOX Stage 1 Suspension Package, 20 x 9 Fuel Vapor Wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/55 (32.8"x11.6") Tires ?

Asked by: Luis Moreno - 8/23/2018
Customer Answer That's going to depend entirely on the backspacing and offset of those Fuel wheels. That being said, as long as you're using the Vapors with a 20mm offset or less, you should clear that tire with this UCA just fine.

Customer Question Will these fit on a 2018 with stock 20" rims and 2.5 king coil overs with 295/60R20's?

Asked by: alex - 8/22/2018
Customer Answer You should clear fine with a 295 wide tire, though you will not be able to go any wider than that if you're going to keep the stock wheels.

Customer Question Will these clear my setup. 2017 F150 with front FOX 2.0 Coilovers leveled with the back. Running 20×9" wheels with +18mm offset paired with 305/55R20 Mickey Thompson tires?

Asked by: Wojciech G. - 8/12/2018
Customer Answer According to ICON's math, you'd have an issue. These UCAs require 5" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire, and you're using a 12" with a 12" wide section width on a wheel with 5.75" of backspace. You're talking .2" worth of problem, and as long as you're using Baja ATZs, you'd probably be fine. However, if you're using MTZs, you could have an issue due to their large tread blocks.

Customer Question How much travel do these add to a 4” BDS lift with Fox 2.5’s?

Asked by: jadon Spomer - 7/27/2018
Customer Answer These UCAs add roughly 1" to 1.5" of travel, depending on your final suspension geometry. The real limiting factor for the F150s in regards to travel is the design and length of their CV axles.

Customer Question right now i have a 2.5 in leveling kit with 20x9 black rhino wheels with a +12 offset and 5.5 in backspace and 33x12.5x20 ridge grapplers. thinking of going with the halo boss coilovers in front. will these uca’s work? or would i need another set with a higher maximum backspace. thanks

Asked by: Nicholas Amditis - 7/2/2018
Customer Answer According to ICON's math, you would need less backspace in order to clear the tires. That being said, in our experience, ICON's backspacing suggestions are on the conservative side, and we were able to fit up to a 295 wide (11.6" wide) tire on F150 factory wheels (6.5" of backspace) without any issues. You likely won't have fitment issues with your particular wheel and tire combination, but if you do, you'd only need a small wheel spacer for extra clearance.

Customer Question I have a 2015 F-150 with a 7in Ready lift and 20x12 fuel Octanes with a -44 offset, I am looking at getting another 2 in or so in ride height would these work????

Asked by: Rudy Garcia - 5/9/2018
Customer Answer Fitment of these UCAs also depends on your tire. That being said, on a 20x12" wheel with a -44mm offset, you should not have clearance issues with either a 12.50" or 13.50" wide tire. The ICON UCAs will not add any ride height to your truck, though in theory, they would be able to handle additional ride height stacked on a lift. That being said, we DO NOT recommend taking a ReadyLift 7" lift up any higher, due to possible issues with that kit's steering components and your CVs.

Customer Question Hi, I have a 2015 F150 XLT FX4. I am going to lift the front by 3 inches (1.5 inch spacer and 1.5 inches from Bilstein 5100’s). I want to install 18x9 wheels with +18 offset and 305/65 tires. Will these fit with my combo?

Asked by: F150-Fan - 5/8/2018
Customer Answer You'd be cutting your clearances pretty close with that particular wheel and tire combination. Technically, ICON's UCAs require a 5" backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tire, so by the math, your wheels with a 5.75" backspace would only be able to clear up to an 11.75" wide tire (around a 295 wide). That all being said, ICON's backspacing guidelines are on the conservative side, and we were able to fit a 295 wide tire on a stock 18" wheel (6.5" backspace) without issues. In our opinion, your wheel and tire combination should clear, but it will be very tight and may come down to the size of the shoulder lugs and the air pressure you're running.

Customer Question I have a 2017 with 2.0 fox coilovers and 20x9 wheels with a +18mm offset. I’m running 305/55r20 tires. Will there be rubbing?

Asked by: Kimo - 4/30/2018
Customer Answer It will be close. A 20x9" wheel with a +18mm offset has a 5.75" backspace, and by ICON's math, you'd only be able to use an 11.75" wide tire. Now, we were able to squeeze a 295 wide tire (11.6")on a stock wheel with 6.5" backspace, so ICON's backspace recommendation is a bit on the conservative side. You will likely clear a 305 wide (12" wide) tire, but the clearance will be extremely close, especially if you're using a tire with large tread blocks or you run them at high air pressures. Your best bet would be to give us a call directly at 623-434-5277 so we can get more specific about your tires.

Customer Question I’m looking for a set of uca’s that will fit my wheel and tire set up? I’m running a lt285/65r18 tire with a moto metal 970 with 5.71 back space and +18 offset My 2011 Ford F-150 had a 2.5 leveling kit. Will this work for my truck and if not could you point me to a set that would possibly work? Thanks

Asked by: Hunter Nelson - 4/11/2018
Customer Answer That particular wheel and tire combination will clear these UCAs just fine. ICON's UCAs require 5" of backspace to clear a 12.50" wide tires. While you're at 5.71" of backspace, your tire is only 11.2" wide.

Asked by: RC - 3/16/2018
Customer Answer As long as you're using the 17x8.5" NVs with a 0mm offset and 4.75" of backspace, you should be able to clear the UCAs on just fine with that tire combination

Customer Question I recently went with the Fox 2.0s and installed them at the height they came with from Fox. It was aligned and works great. I have maybe 300 miles on them. If I were to install these UCAs would it be necessary to get my alignment done again?

Asked by: Moto - 3/11/2018
Customer Answer You likely would not have to, since the tie rod does not need to be removed for a UCA swap.

Customer Answer As long as you keep your wheel spacers, you should be able to clear your UCAs with that wheel and tire combination.

Customer Question Ok 5" backspacing max, so is that 5" or less? Fuel mavericks with the +20 offset with 5.75" will those work or do I need to be looking at the +14 or +01 offset? I don't want a lot of wheel stick out. I'll be running the 19x9 on 275/70 tires. Another question about this I know. Thanks again.

Asked by: Jon - 1/1/2018
Customer Answer The ICON upper control arms require a maximum backspace of 5" to clear a 12.50" wide tire. That means a wheel with 5" or less backspace will clear a 12.50" wide tire. However, the UCAs will still fit with a wheel that has more than 5" backspace, but you'll be limited to a given maximum tire size. In the case of a 9" wide wheel with a +20mm offset and 5.75" of backspace, the maximum tire width you could use is an 11.50" (295mm) wide tire. A 275 wide tire will fit on a wheel with 5.75" of backspace and still clear the UCAs just fine.

Customer Question What is the difference in these vs ICON-98501 Which one would work better with a 6" lift?

Asked by: Tristan - 10/1/2017
Customer Answer The only difference between these control arms and ICON-98501 is that these arms use ICON's new Delta Joint which has the strength and articulation of a uniball and the long-term reliability of a balljoint. The ICON-98501 arms use a uniball joint. Either option would work fine with a 6" lift kit.

Customer Answer ICON actually offers a Delta Joint Retrofit Kit that allows you to press a Delta Joint in place of your current ICON UCA's uniball when the time comes.

Customer Question Do the Icon dust caps still fit with these? I know they may not be necessary with the delta joint but arms with caps look better.

Asked by: silkywoods - 6/29/2017
Customer Answer The ICON dust caps will fit, but they are just for aesthetics, since the Delta Joints are fully sealed. Secondly, they'll also block the Delta Joint's Zerk fitting if you do want to regrease them in the future. Still, they will technically fit.
