A Complete Performance Upgrade for the 6.2L Super Duty
If you are looking to wake up the 6.2L V8 in your 2011-2014 F250 or F350, the S3M Phase 3 Performance Package brings together several proven upgrades that work together to improve how your truck breathes, responds, and sounds. The factory setup is reliable and capable, but there is still untapped potential hiding in the intake system, throttle body, exhaust, and engine calibration. This package addresses all of those areas with a balanced group of upgrades that make the truck feel stronger and more responsive from the moment you press the accelerator. Whether you are pulling a trailer, climbing a long grade, or simply getting onto the highway, the improvements help the engine deliver power in a more confident and enjoyable way.
aFe Cold Air Intake for Stronger Engine Breathing
The first step in improving performance is giving the engine better access to clean, cool air. The aFe Magnum FORCE Stage 2 cold air intake replaces the factory air box, inlet tubing, and disposable paper filter with a more efficient system designed to increase airflow. At the center of the setup is a reusable Pro 5R oiled air filter that uses multiple layers of filtration media to capture debris while still allowing a strong volume of air to pass through. The filter sits inside a heat shield assembly that helps isolate it from engine bay temperatures, which keeps incoming air cooler and more consistent. From there, the intake routes air through a smooth inlet tube that carries it directly toward the throttle body with fewer restrictions. The result is improved airflow that helps the 6.2L V8 respond quicker and produce stronger horsepower and torque.
BBK Throttle Body for Faster Throttle Response
The next piece of the airflow upgrade comes from the BBK 85mm throttle body. The throttle body controls how much air enters the engine when you press the accelerator, and increasing its diameter allows the engine to draw in more air with less restriction. BBK designed this unit with a larger bore than the stock throttle body, which helps the engine respond more quickly as the throttle opens. The improved airflow works especially well with the upgraded intake system, allowing the engine to take in air more efficiently during acceleration. The throttle body is CNC machined from durable aluminum and built with OE style electronics so it integrates cleanly with the truck’s factory controls. Installation is straightforward, making it a simple but effective upgrade that improves how the engine reacts when you step into the throttle.
MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust for Power and Sound
Once air enters the engine more efficiently, it also needs a clear path out. The MBRP cat-back exhaust system included in this package helps accomplish that by replacing the restrictive factory exhaust with a larger, smoother flowing design. The system uses mandrel bent 4 inch stainless steel tubing that allows exhaust gases to move more freely through the system. This improved exhaust flow reduces back pressure and helps the engine produce stronger power across the RPM range. The performance muffler adds a deep, aggressive tone that gives the big V8 a more commanding presence without overwhelming the cabin during normal driving. It also finishes things off with a polished exhaust tip that adds a clean, performance oriented look at the rear of the truck.
SCT X4 Tuner with 5-Star Custom Tunes
Bringing all of these upgrades together is the SCT X4 handheld tuner paired with custom tuning from 5 Star. The X4 connects directly to the truck’s OBD-II port and allows the engine computer to be recalibrated so it can fully take advantage of the improved airflow from the intake, throttle body, and exhaust. The included custom tunes adjust fuel delivery, ignition timing, and transmission behavior to improve horsepower, torque, and overall drivability. The difference is especially noticeable in the lower RPM range, where the truck gains stronger pulling power and smoother acceleration. The tuner features a bright full color screen and simple menu navigation that makes selecting and loading tunes easy. All of 5-Star's tunes are available in 87, 89, 91, and 93 octane flavors so that you can get the tuning you need for the most commonly available fuel octane in your area. How our F250 & F350 6.2L Custom Tuning Works
After you order your tuner, you are sent a
"blank" tuner without any custom tunes. We'll then send you an email that needs to be completely filled out and emailed back to us. However, you'll need to have your tuner before you can complete the form. After your tuner arrives, you'll need to hook it into your truck and get your
ECU Strategy Code and put it in your tune email next to "Strategy". After we receive your completed tune information, the tune itself will be built and sent to you via email as an attachment. Download the tunes .cef files to your computer and use your updated SCT software from SCT's website to upload the tunes to your tuner. Please be aware that SCT's devices and software are
only compatible with Microsoft Windows computers, and will not work with Mac OS X, Linux, or other operating systems. Once the tunes are in the tuner, you can then tune your truck. Stage 3's 5-Star Custom Tuning Step-by-Step:
1. You place your order for 5-Star's Custom Tunes
2. Stage 3 sends you a "blank" tuner and a tune sheet form
3. You hook the tuner into your truck and pull its ECU strategy code
4. You fill out our tune sheet with the information from your truck and its strategy code
5. If your truck has Ford's latest strategy updates, we'll forward your information over to 5-Star and get your tunes created
6. Once 5-Star creates your tunes, they're be emailed to you at the address linked to your Stage 3 account
7. Download 5-Star's tunes to your tuning device using SCT's Device Updater Software
8. Now load your 5-Star Custom Tune of choice into your Super Duty
2011-2014 F250 & F350 6.2L Super Duty Only: this package currently only fits 2011 to 2014 6.2L Super Duty trucks due to a Ford design change in the factory throttle bodies of the 2015 and 2016 F250 and F350 trucks.
